JEE DAY (DFA Records / New York City)

Now while the pseudonym Jee Day might not ring any bells, the laundry list of New York dance acts that credit Dennis McNany for their sound certainly would, including The Rapture and Turing Machine. Debuting as Jee Day, McNany hews close to the NYC/DFA sound he’s helped to nurture : “Like a Child” moves as much like a rock track as it does a dance track, stitching arena bombast onto drugged-out dance floor thrall. Fittingly atmospheric vocals inform you that “time goes by you…like a child” and it’s not hard to take them at their word, as the track’s maelstrom whirl shoots for a “wait where are we gooooinnngg” moment like the end of 2001: A Space Odyssey. Don’t be surprised that instead of dancing you end up staring deeply at the disco ball—but don’t be embarrassed, we’ve all done it before, and this is definitely a tune worth losing your shit too.

KEZOKICHI (Back To Back)

In the few years that Kezokichi has lived in London he has made quite an impression – regular sets at his own “Back 2 Back” events held in the hippest quarters of the capital have a feverishly dedicated following for what Time Out calls “a darn killer party”.
Kezokichi’s self declared “beautiful music” mix-up of techno, electro and housey disco has seen him star at Womb, the pinnacle club of his birthplace Tokyo, and in London at events for Vogue Magazine, Ministry Of Sound, Kitsune, Bad Life and 1234 Festival.
European dates include headline sets at Milan Design Week and sharing the decks for club dates with Boys Noize, Serge Santiago and Alex Metric.
