I’d like to formally invite everyone to check out Balkan Beat Box, who will be playing at Hamburg’s Knust on the 7th of May. It’s a little difficult to describe their music, somewhat of a combination between Kleizmer, Hip Hop, Reggae, Beatbox, Russian Folk, Jazz and some other various undertones. Their music is unique, they put on one hell of a show and it’s bound to be a (yet another) great party!
Check out their music at http://www.balkanbeatbox.com and http://www.last.fm/music/Balkan+Beat+Box
And for good measure, here’s a clip from one of their previous shows in Germany:

Thank you for the tip, Liron. Unfortunately, I will be in Frankfurt at this time.
I know a few tracks from Balkan Beat Box as part of the “Bucovina Club” called compilation from Shantel. I saw Shantel live at Batschkapp, where he presented his new CD Disko Partizani - great!
I’ll be there - got my ticket already.
It was a terrific show! I particularly enjoyed the opening when the band marched across the plaza in front of Knust and dragged the soccer-watching audience into the venue.
Here are my photos and videos from the show:

@Liron: Nice photos and videos! (Did you leave out the audio, or is it a flickr bug?)
maybe a flickr bug? I’ve got them up at youtube as well: http://www.youtube.com/user/lirontocker
@Liron: I shot videos as well, but the sound is messed up. With the Nokia N95, each hit of the kick drum sounds like an explosion. ;-)
@Pjebsen I’m using a N95 8gb.
@Liron: Then you’ll probably know what I’m talking about. ;-)
@Pjebsen The sound quality was pretty good for me, no complaints! But you were also standing closer to the speakers than i was.
