  2008 sees the launch of the Hidden Gem Awards. We’ve created these awards because we see a lot of people on Qype are very passionate about finding local, independent businesses and they want to support the people behind those businesses.

  So we’ve come up with half-a-dozen categories that we think people will have an opinion on (Best place for a Sunday roast, Best place you can still smoke etc) to help get a bit of attention for those places that do a great job but don’t necessarily have the marketing budgets of a McDonalds or a Starbucks.

  I’ve created this group so we can talk about the various categories a bit and you guys can ask any questions you might have (like where is the awards ceremony going to be and will there be free booze!).
