We want to see if it's possible to eat around the globe without leaving the comfort of the capital.
So everyone knows the best places once we 'reach' India, China and Mexico but what about Egypt, Iceland, Mongolia, new Zealand and all the others?
Let's see if we can create a list of all 200 or so (?) culinary options...and then we can go out and sample them all!
The Gay Hussar at the top of Greek Street is a very famous old haunt of politicians and literati and the only Hungarian grazing ground I can think of off the top of my head. Good goulash. Never tried anything else.
Louis Patisserie in Hampstead is technically Hungarian, although they have almost nothing in the way of proper meals, usually just some simple sandwiches. They have amazing sweets, cakes, and all manner of confectionary, though.
