After trying their introductory class a few weeks ago, I have now realised that I have absolutely no internal rhythm.  This news, for anyone who has seen me dance will understand this absolutely, came as quite a shock to your intrepid reporter.  However, and despite that not insubstantial obstacle, I still managed to thoroughly enjoy myself by banging as hard and as fast as I could (much to the annoyance of my other class members who were all taking to the drumming like ducks in water and were, you know, ACTUALLY TRYING TO PLAY THE RYTHYM WE HAD JUST BEEN TAUGHT).  Never let it be said that lack of talent should get in the way of having fun.

In terms of the class, our tutors(?) were informative, knowledgeable and very (extremely in my case) patient whilst we (I) attempted for the 139th time (again, only me) to play a simple: right, right, left drum loop.  They also wear strange/amazing/bizarre shoes which make your feet look like a lizards feet.  Well, if that lizard had black feet.  And it was the size of a human.  And it only had two feet, rather than the usual, you know, four…cough…I digress...

Anyway, it really was great entertainment and well worth a shot, even if just to discover that you're dreams of playing in front of 80,000 fans at Wembley isn't, possibly, how you are going to be spending the next few years.....

Nice little pub which stocks a decent range of ales and guest lagers. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable and the locals were not of the 'stop and stare' variety when we walked in. A nice pub to while a few hours away in whilst your other half enjoys a bit of retail therapy in Morningside!

Love how quirky this place is (Werthers Originals shots anyone?) and has a nice selection of beers/ciders available too. Staff were very friendly and we had no problems finding a seat, although the seating is a little limited.

Superb food, fantastic service and lovely, cosy environement. Love it.

I enjoyed a very pleasant lunch here. I found the menu to be in line with most other pubs, but clearly the food was cooked on site rather than just heated up. Nice selection of ales on offer too. Also nice to see them supporting local businesses by using local produce. Worth a visit if you were in this area.

Great little sandwich shop along Haymarket Terrace stocking a wide variety of cold fillings. Also offer hot food too and various cakes, fruit and drinks etc. Staff are always very friendly and conscientious. I found the prices to be very reasonable too. There is also limited seating for approx 4/5 people.

Lovely place to come for a walk along the promenade, grab a hot chocolate or, if you are brave enough, go for a dip in the water! Very popular, especially in warm(er) weather, so avoid if you dont like people/dogs/children!

Lovely little jewellers which offers a surprisingly good (read quality) selection. 1 of only 2 jewellers licensed to sell Hearts on Fire diamonds in Scotland. Ive purchased a watch from here which they had to order in specifically and which they were v happy to do.

amazing fun, a must see for anyone visiting this beautiful city :)

Spent a good afternoon sitting outside in the sunshine. Good table service and friendly staff – happy days!
