The Thai Orchid - Exeter
5 Cathedral Yard, Exeter, Devon EX1 1HJ
06.11.2008
Very good and decadent food! Rich and flavoursome menus that are great for a party or staff do. I went there once and could barely finish the main meal, it was huge! I eventually found room for dessert though! The staff are very helpful and attentive and the decore of the place it lovlie! It can be a bit pricey, so go there if the boss or your parents are paying!
The Sandwich Bar - Exeter
252 High Street, Exeter, Devon EX4 3PZ
06.11.2008
If you’re running to work late, or you’ve got 5 mins to kill before your favourate shop opens then this is the place to come. It’s fast food, but not one of the big hideous Multinational corporations! It’s all very reasonably priced and huge portions of food!
The staff are always very friendly and happy to serve. A great place for food on the go.
Barnfield Theatre - Exeter
Barnfield Road, Exeter, Devon EX1 1SN
06.11.2008
Near centre of Exeter on Barnfield Road, it’s used as a venue for Exeter Little Theatre Company and other visiting theatre companies.
The main auditorium has recently reupholstered it seats so it’s a comfortable night out if you’re going to see any stage productions.
There’s another room available for hire called The Clifford Room can be used for smaller based theatre productions as the seating can be arranged however you want.
There’s a bar available before and after the show’s plus obveously during the intermission. But there’s also a cafe off the main foyer as you enter the theatre where you can get sandwiches, Paninis and jacket potatoes.
Definatley worth checking out if you’re looking for a place to perform, or you want a good night out.
Skeleton bar - Pr' skelet - Ljubljana
Kljucavnicarska 5, 1000 Ljubljana
15.10.2008
This is a fun place to be! It’s popular bar with tourist’s and it’s nicely hidden downstairs off the street just off the river side. It’s like walking into a Scooby Doo Cartoon; the eyes on the painting move, there are random bits of scenery that move as you stand on certain pressure pads. and there’s a secret passage behind the bookcase to the toilet!
Two for one Cocktails ever night; who woulda thought there’d be a drink called: “Sex in the diabled toilets”? - Bonkers! The staff are amazingly friendly and always happy to help.
If you’re in Ljubljana, you MUST go to this bar!
Book-Cycle - Exeter
7 West St, Exeter, Devon EX1 1BB
14.10.2008
Book-Cycle is a lovlie little shop hidden away from the main high st and looks a bit like the set of “Black Books”. It’s a 'not-for-profit organisation’ They collect unwanted books from donations etc, if you can find the certain book you want, you pay whatever you wish! Half the proceeds of what you spend is sent to developing countries as well as some relevant literature, and the other half goes to planting trees around Britain. How cool is that?!
There are 100’s of books in this tiny little gem of a bookshop and loads of different genres. It’s worth taking a look, cos you’ll probably be surprised what you find.
Queen Victoria Inn - Exeter
Tudor Street, Exeter, Devon EX4 3BR
14.10.2008
The Best Sunday Lunch in Town! Ok, it’s around eight/nine quid for a meal, but you’d be lucky if you can finish it! It’s a lovlie little place, but it’s almost always empty; it’s just unfortunately in the wrong location. It’s quietly tucked away “under” Fore St. Pretty close to the Book-Cycle and the Exe Bridges. But it’s got a great Jukebox, some good beers, and damn good food!
Defiantly worth a visit!
Juice Moose - Exeter
Queen Street, Exeter, Devon EX4 3SB

Exeter’s 1st and best JuiceBar. It has loads of healthy juices that could practically be a meal sometimes. Located just next to Exeter’s Central Station and just 2 mins from the High St this is a great place to come and meet people for a healthy wake-up drink, or stop off for a really great coffee if you prefer.
The staff are friendly and very fast, as there is sometimes quite a que, but it is the type of place to come for those people on the go. Highly recommended.
North Bridge Inn - Exeter
11 St David's Hill, Exeter, Devon EX4 3RG

The North Bridge Inn (NBI) is one of Exeter’s best kept secrets. It hosts a friendly and welcoming atmosphere to all who find themselves there.
It’s slightly off the beaten track on St Davids Hill, it has a pooltable and a quite little beer/smoking garden. It boasts some lovlie organic ciders and great local ales. Comfy-loose-yourself-sofa’s and a great alternative jukebox. There’s an open mic night every Wednesday and trust me the musicians who play there are exceptional, it’s definatly worth checking out.
It’s a bar without ego or attitude, there are regular’s and locals who are a little like the cast of Cheers, but they’ll welcome any newcommers with open arms. It’s a great place to visit, again and again.
Red Rose - Exeter
13-14 North Street, Exeter, Devon EX4 3QS

Possibly the best Indian Food in Exeter. A huge menu and a wide selection of wines, the food is fit for Brahma himself. The service is exceptionally good and the staff are always very welcoming. If you choose to eat in the restaurant, I would suggest going for the smaller meals, as the portions are massive. A Takeaway and delivery service is also provided so if you want to eat at home spend over £20 and you’ll get lots of littel freebie side dishes with you meal. Definatly worth having!
