Apparently, the retards at "Mr. Crolla" are unable to substitute their foul, suspect and probably dangerous "doner" "meat" (yes... I know... I said "meat") for something remotely palatable. Well to hell with you back-dated narrow-minded clowns, perhaps you should try to emulate the European ideals you're currently so ridiculously far behind.
Unless you're only after uninspired junk food, give it a miss.
Coffee Corner - Aviemore
85 Grampian Road, Aviemore, Highlands and Islands PH22 1RH

The Coffee Corner is a decent wee cafe on the main street in Aviemore. The menu is limited but on a kindae cold Highland morning, their selection of hot rolls is more than adequate.
If I were to be honest, it's perhaps a wee bit pricey, but they have seasonal trade and they supply decent fresh food. Fine selction of coffee types and a nice clean seating area.
I don't necessarily want a membership card, but I'd go back.
Staff were extremely nice and friendly too - but they're Scots, from the Highlands, so it's not at all surprising.
Longniddry Inn - Longniddry
Main Street, Longniddry, Scotland EH32 0NF

Food is the name of the game at the Longniddry Inn. Locally, it's very well respected for the quality of the food and the size of the portions.
The menu is varied with something to appeal to most tastes. The quality stays throughout the menu too, from starters to sweets. A particular favourite is the “sizzlers” – give one a go!
Children are welcomed and the various rooms within the inn mean that there’s usually room to fit you in – that said, booking is a good idea – especially at weekends where the great reputation brings in the diners.
As a pub, it’s a wee bit staid, not much of a “local boozer” – but that is not what it’s there for. Crackin, belly-fillin’ dinners are its raison d’être and it’s on the money!
Boat Hotel - Boat of Garten

The Boat Hotel reallly really wishes it was somewhere else.
Pretentious - doesn't quite capture the intrinsic supercilious arrogance of this hotel.
It, like Boat of Garten, is nothing special AT ALL! Where it veers radically from what anyone with a modicum of travel behind them would consider the norm, is in pretending to be something "superior" where, in actual fact, it's a very ordinary hotel that has gone that extra mile to alienate the locals that could have afforded it acceptability (just short of credibility).
Personally, I'll nip down to Aviemore - where the Cairngorm has at least some humility.
Tradewinds Restaurant - Corpach
Fort William, Highlands and Islands PH33 7JG

A great wee boozer in Corpach. It's a fair bit outside Fort William if that's where you're based, but it's worth the run , if a decent night out and a bit of craic is what you're after.
There's a range of things going on, pool, darts. live music etc. - get yourself along and see what's happening.
A good variety of beers will help the night along.

The Moorings is a very nice hotel. Nice meaning quiet, clean, efficient and relaxing. The rooms are great, many with superb views over to the Ben.
Food in the bar is grand. Haggis starter followed by lamb main set me up perfectly. These were washed down by a very nice pint of Deuchar's - that's new since my last visit a few weeks ago.
The bar lacks the feel of a 'local', it's more a place for polite meetings and family meals
It's a very nice and decent hotel in a wonderful location.
One burning criticism though, is the chronic lack of locals... if they think that they'll survive on the "corporate lot" then they're sadly deluded.
A few of the key members of staff that realised this have now moved on, and the core ambience suffers as a direct result of their leaving. The new incumbents would do well to recognise where their bread and butter comes from.

A good, straight forward, no nonsense chippy. A nice fresh shop, selling decent chippie food as well as pizza, baguettes, baked tatties etc. Well run, serving good food and spotlessly clean.

If you've been out on the beer, have had far too much, then a cheeky wee fried rice from here might be appealing.
If you're stone cold sober, haven't had a drop, then the same cheeky wee dish might be appalling.
Just another Chinese takeaway - that you can smell from 200 yards.
