Reliably delicious and varied vegetarian food. Riverside is a friendly place, not particularly fancy. The layout is direly inefficient - you have to negotiate past a waiter with a tray of food. But who cares when the food is so good?
Don’t overlook the desserts!

The food was delicious, the service so leisurely and relaxed that we wondered whether they’d all gone off somewhere, the atmosphere warm and communal, the decor transport cafe with photos from Ethiopia. Loved it. We took a mixed starter of houmous, tabbouleh, some delicious aubergine based concoction and flat breads. Mixed platter of mains was served on a large metal tray lined with a njera leavened pancake. On it were arranged little stews, spiced lamb, lentils and salad. I don’t go a bundle on njera, so far, but the dishes were delicious with the odd blast of chili. Came out of Red Sea with four of us feeling well fed for £35. No licence, no wine, cook had sloped off by the time we asked for desserts. Try the lemon milk shake - which is really fresh lemonade.
