T K Maxx - Leeds

22-26 The Headrow, Leeds, West Yorkshire LS1 5QL

27.11.2008

TK Maxx does have nearly everything under one roof. The selection of women’s shoes is great, though the women’s clothing is not as good. There’s a good selection of men’s clothing and shoes, and gifts.
It can get pretty busy in here if you go in on the wrong day.

Cats - Leeds

Lifton Place, Leeds, West Yorkshire LS2 9JZ

24.11.2008

Cats is a lovely little gift shop within the Leeds University Union. It sells lots of cards for all different occasions, so, as there is a letter box within the Union, this is great if you’ve forgotten a special occasion. It also sells a variety of little knick-knacks that make great gifts.

Old Bar - Leeds

Lifton Place, Leeds, West Yorkshire LS2 9JT

24.11.2008

Great pub within the Leeds University Union. It’s a good place to start a night out. The drinks, while not terribly cheap, aren’t as expensive as in other places in town. It can often get very full, especially on a Saturday night.

Ludlow Castle - Ludlow

Castle Square, Ludlow, Shropshire SY8 1AY

18.11.2008

Ludlow Castle is a lovely place to go for the day. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about the site. You only have to pay for the day, so if you keep a hold of your ticket you can go in and out the castle, which is very nice if you fancy having a wonder around the lovely town centre.

Soho - Shrewsbury

Darwin Centre, Shrewsbury, Shropshire SY1 1BW

18.11.2008

Soho is a great little shop. It sells reasonable priced clothing for emos, punks, and goths. The staff are very friendly and for some of their more expensive stuff (eg New Rock boots) they’ll occasionally let you put it on lay-by, so you cazn pay a little off every week or so.

Wulfrun Hall - Wolverhampton

North Street, Wolverhampton, West Midlands WV1 1RQ

16.11.2008

I’ve been to this place a couple of times to see a band and it has been fantastic. The venue is pretty wide, so you have a great chance of getting up to the front. There’s also loads of places where you can stand back and enjoy the band from a slightly cooler perspective.

University Of Leeds - Leeds

Great George Street, Leeds, West Yorkshire LS1 3BR

16.11.2008

The University of Leeds is a brilliant university. A wide range of subjects are taught, and the standard of teaching is high. The libraries are fantastic and are packed with all the books you might need for your course. There’s loads of places where you can sit and study quietly, or where you can use a computer. The university run accommodation is often very good, and well looked after.

The Refectory (Leeds University) - Leeds

Leeds University Union, Lifton Place, Leeds, West Yorkshire LS2 9JT

16.11.2008

The Refectory is a great place to see bands. The atmosphere inside is fantastic, and the crowd really gets going. It can get rather hot when you’re jumping along at the front, but you can cool down rather a lot by going to the bar at the back of the venue. Drinks aren’t too expensive, and usually you don’t have to wait very long to get served.

The Angel Chef - Worcester

9 Angel Street, Worcester, Worcestershire WR1 3QT

16.11.2008

This is a great restaurant. It’s not overpriced and the food is lovely. It’s right in the town centre too, so it’s fantastic after a hard day’s shopping.

Vue - Worcester

Friar Street, Worcester, Worcestershire WR1 2NA

16.11.2008

This is a great cinema. It is big and clean and shows many great films. However, like any cinema of this chain the tickets are quite expensive, as are the drinks and popcorn.
