Bloomsbury Bowling - Bloomsbury

It’s a retro-style bowling place, quite nice… Although when you are used to modern bowling places, you are kinda lost.
Also the music is a bit loud in the bar, a bit difficult to talk but at least the music is good :-)
They don’t have much choice in terms of drinks, only 2 types of beer and I don’t even know that brands…

Cullinghood Stables - Pangbourne

It was booked via www.redletters.co.uk: “A day’s horse riding for two”.
The stables are near Reading at Pangbourne. The day starts at 11 am and finishes at 4.30 pm.
You start with 1 hour training in the arena where they teach you how to get the horse moving and then stop. You then learn how to trot.
After your lesson you go out on a walk in the countryside for an hour or so.
You come back and have lunch around a big table with all the other riders.
After lunch you have another hour horse riding in the countryside.
If you are a beginner there are leaders by the horse’s side at all time. It’s completely safe. Horses are experienced and are really calm. Groups are small so it’s even more enjoyable (10 people).
They can provide boots and hats if you don’t have any.
It’s 3 hours riding in total. But it’s enough because I guarantee you’ll be aching!

This is a guided tour around York’s haunted streets. Gary, the guide, will tell you the best stories about York’s most famous ghosts.
The tour lasts 75 minutes and start at 7.30pm. The meeting point is the Viking Centre.
He will arrive dressed in his Homburg hat, black cravat, black coat and cane.
He is brilliant! You don’t want him to stop speaking. What he says is so fascinating!
It was the highlight of my trip to York.
I highly recommend it!

That’s true, the most amazing thing about this museum is how they’ve managed to recreate the life of vikings. All your senses are aroused, particularly your sense of smell :-)

The museum is free of charge.
You’ll find over three hundred years of world railway history, from Japanese Bullet trains to Queen Victoria’s favourite carriage (which is one of the most impressive things to see).
You can also visit the worshop and the warehouse.
There is also the Yorkshire wheel (the equivalent of the London Eye but smaller) just outside the museum.

It’s a fantastic Italian restaurant.
The food is gorgeous! I have never eaten anything tastier before (at least for what I tried)!
For starters I had “pesto and padamo cheese bites drizzled with balsamic vinegar” and for the main I had the “smoked salmon pizza with pesto (garnished with crème fraiche and citrus wedge)”. Absolutely fantastic!
Have a look at the menu if you don’t believe me :-) :

We also ordered a delicious sparkling wine/champagne (Veuve Chapelle).
I highly recommend it. One of best restaurants I have ever been to (if, just like me, you like informal restaurants).
