Unit 9 The Piazza Shopping Centre, Paisley, Scotland PA1 1EB
This is a great branch of this well known store, absolutely full of large numbers of cut-price books (probably the best value you'll find anywhere), greetings cards, stationery, toys, DVDs (including low-priced box sets) and so much more. It's also very good for craft-making things and art supplies. At the moment it's a good place to go for stocking-fillers and other Christmas gifts, plus wrapping paper, sellotape and other useful items. Found in the Piazza Shopping Mall which is under cover and easy to find, close to the centre of town.

I enjoyed a browse around this fairly small branch of this store the other day. There is a good range of clothes in very attractive colours, especially winter wear at this time of year of course. Clothes start at size 12 (which is a shame from my point of view as I need a 10 in tops). There are some great bargains on coats and knitwear and I liked the hats and scarves - good for gifts too. The staff seemed very helpful and friendly, full of the Christmas spirit!!

Pretty much the same as the other, small, branches of this store with a good range of vitamins and minerals, herbal supplements, 'health drinks', bags of nuts, snacks, confectionery, chilled foods (including many of the Redwood range), packet mixes, tinned beans - and much more besides. I called in yesterday to buy one of the delicious Dutch apple cakes which I buy in H&B from time to time, plus some vegetable pates and spreads. The service was friendly and I'm sure I'll call in there again the next time I'm in the town.

Paisley Centre Shoppers Car Park
A large multi-story car park which I used yesterday. It isn't far from the shopping centre - perhaps 5 or 10 minutes on foot. I thought it was a bit pricey - I was there for 5 hours which cost me £5 - rather a shock after Kilmarnock where the car parks are relatively cheap! I found it a little confusing inside as it wasn't always clear which way you could go - which were the 'up' ramps and which the 'down'. The machine where one pays on return doesn't take £20 notes or give change so it took me ages to scrape together enough cash! Another thing which annoyed me was that I could only get back via the main entrance/exit - there are three or four doors around the outside but they were all locked (probably fire escapes which only open from the inside). I shall try one of the other car parks next time...

A station I’ve used at various times through the years but quite a lot over the past few months.
It’s staffed part time, Monday – Saturday: 05:55 to 23:10 and Sunday: 07:25 to 23:05. There’s a waiting room, departure and arrival screens, toilets and a branch of WHSmith. Outside there is a taxi rank, bus stops and also a car park.
The station could do with upgrading and would be much nicer with some other shops and, in particular, a cafe. However, the station fronts onto the County Square and is therefore very close to a variety of cafes, pubs and restaurants.
Jane_Elizabeth I think you’re right (sadly) as they are all disappearing, or being changed out of all recognition…

Absolutely brilliant store and really huge, on several levels. There are homewares and much more besides but I chiefly visited today to buy some clothes. There are marvellous bargains to be found at the moment with a lot of reductions on clothes for all the family – 20% off all coats for example. Great for accessories as well including bags, scarves and hats. Very helpful staff and altogether a great store – I shall be back soon!

I’m a big fan of this lovely card shop! It’s large, bright and cheerful and full of a great range of greetings cards for all the family and every occasion. You’ll find cards in all price bands too (starting at only 50p), plus fancy boxes, nice wrapping paper and tags. There are also glossy printed balloons, confetti and party hats. There is a surprising amount of gifts as well, from cuddly toys, pens, picture frames – and even individual iced greetings cakes – to gift cards which can be used in other stores.
Jane_Elizabeth Yes I remember you saying that you had quite a long distance to get to some good card shops…

I like this branch of Superdrug; it’s larger than I first expected and bright and colourful inside. A huge range of cosmetics and toiletries, medication, batteries and even a good choice of gifts. Often you’ll find bargains – the ‘three for the price of two’ offers, so it’s worth looking out for those. There are also lots of snacks, chilled drinks and confectionery, and the staff are helpful and pleasant.

I bought several things in here today and spent some time browsing through the books. It’s an attractive store with lots to catch the eye (my eye, at least!) A good range of books, magazines and newspapers, stationery and pens. Plenty of greetings cards too, plus wrapping paper and tags. Lots of special offers on chocolate at present as well – some great reductions on family sized bars – not to be missed, these!!
Jane_Elizabeth Thanks Roger, yes I like a good branch of WHSmith, or any decent bookshop, come to that!

Fastastic store with a beautiful range of clothes for all the family. I was amazed by some of the huge reductions on clothes today and came away with some terrific bargains (including fleece jumpers reduced to under £5!)
It’s a bit cramped between racks of clothes but this is a minor quibble. The staff are lovely, helpful and friendly every time I’ve visited.
You can access the shopping mall from the rear of the store beside the food hall, which is useful, especially in bad weather.
