Buffet Star - Liverpool
85-87 Hanover Street, Liverpool, Merseyside L1 3DZ
30.11.2008
this is an all you can eat chinese buffet that is designed to cater on a large scale.
the seating area extends far back, and the actual food area is quite large, offering so many different dishes.
thsi seems to have been designed for the westerner, rather than bringing a bit of traditionalism to it, as many of the dishes are meat based. not great for a vegetarian like me that loves her chinese food.
when i went, drinks were 2-4-1, which was goood, and made up for the expense of the place. after a certain time, the price increases. as we went quite late on in the evening, we paid over £12 per person to eat. which wsnt very good value for money as some people only ate one plate of food.
even though we arrived late on, and were the last party in the restaurant, we could have done without having the place cleaned and mopped around us. it made us feel unwelcome, and like we were being rushed.
overall, this wasnt the greatest dining experience, and i am loathe to go back.

great all you can eat buffet.
there is such a variety of dishes on offer that you couldnt possibly try them all.
there service was great, and drinks arrived promptly.
the restaurant itself is a bit cramped, and you sometimes had to move your chair to let someone past.
other than that, its great, i would definitley go again, especially as it has some great deals, and at certain times of the day you can eat all you want for less than £10.
brilliant
The Krazy House - Liverpool
16 Wood Street, Liverpool, Merseyside L1 4AQ
30.11.2008
the only rock club in the city, this is the place to go if the usual club music and chesy pop prove too much for you.
spread over 3 floors, the krazy house boasts a wide variety of rock tastes. the 3rd floor caters for the more cheesy tunes, hte second for the more indie tunes, whilst the ground floor is for pure hard rock and metal.
the drinks are cheap, probably cheaper than any other club inthe city, and you could probably have a great night for less than £30.
the regulars are usually friendly, and dont worry if you lose your mates, wander round looking for them, and chat to some new people, they wont bite, and may well end up becoming part of your group of friends.
there is a burger bar that offers basic burgers and chips, which is always great after drinking and dancing hard.
the toilets arent great, but you’ll get used to them. the whole atmosphere of the club is one of unpretentiousness, the krazy house is what it is, a rock club that doesnt try to be anything else.
dont be frightened of the 'goths’ or 'punks’ you see queueing up outside, give the krazy house a go, and you might just keep coming back again and again.
Costa Coffee - Liverpool
14-16 Bold Street, Liverpool, Merseyside L1 4DS
30.11.2008
looks deceptivley large from the outside, inside can be a bit cramped, especially if you are laden down with bags of shopping.
offers a basic range of teas and coffees, pretty much the same as you would find on the highstreet, for similar prices.
the service is quick, almost too quick, but then this is a busy store.
the tables take a while to get cleared of the previous occupants cups as all the staff - usually 2 or 3, seem to be behind the counter dealing with orders.
at busy times, you can be hard pressed to find somewhere to sit, and can find yourself sharing a table with complete strangers.
its an average city centre, coffee shop chain.
Heat Wave Leisure Pool - Liverpool
The Withens, Liverpool, Merseyside L3 8JR
30.11.2008
this isnt a place to go for serious swimming.
its more a fun pool.
the slide is great, but be prepared to wait with kids to go down it.
there is a baby pool for young children, and the main pool has a wave machine, starting from the deep end, the waves lap at the shallow end in a realistic manner.
there is even a 'sun’ terrace for parents to watch over their kids from.
all in all, heatwaves is a great family pool, there is something fro everyone as long as you dont mind getting wet.
it can be a bit boring if you are not swimming

ive only been here for the swimming. and i have to say its not great.
the pool is a decent enough size, and could be quite an enjoyable swim, but the amount of OAPS that go swimming there tend to put me off.
no-one ever sticks to the lanes, so you cant even swim a length without having to dodge someone.
the management let far too many people into the pool than is comfortable. again, another example of money before people.
to improve the pool, a lane should be cordoned off for those that want to swim, rather than gossip with thier friends.
the changing rooms are a disgrace. there is a constant smell of stale urine, and the open plan changing rooms really dont give any privacy. there are anti-slip matts on the floor, which are really uncomfortable.
this is not a pleasurable swimming experience.
Poundstretcher - Liverpool
Unit 7-10 Stonedale Park, East Lancashire Road, Liverpool, Merseyside L11 9DH
30.11.2008
much like home and bargains, and wilkinsons, poundstretcher offers those household items at knockdown prices.
this particular store offers a lot in the way of storage, whether it be plastic containers, or laundry baskets, whatever you need in terms of storage, you can probably find it.
the shelves are stocked high and full, and it is possible to lose shopping partners in the dark recesses of the back of the store.
this store comes across as cluttered and untidy, but when the prices are this cheap, you dont really mind a bit of clutter

great for cheap costume jewellry.
many earrings come in packs of several pairs, so there is a lot of variety.
many of the necklaces, cheap and costume jewellrey they may be, but there are sometimes some really nice peices.
the stock is always changing, so you have to go in quite often to see whats in.
my particular favourite is the wooden bead jewellry, i know i wont be allergic to it, and that the metal wont rub off, so its a safe bet.
and because its so cheap, you dont mind if you damage a piece, or you can break a piece and mix it with another to create a unique piece of jewellery.
there is a large range of hair accessories, which is ideal for those in schools with strict dress codes as you can buy a pack of several clips/bobbles, for not very much, and can replenish them throughout the year at no great cost.
Q S Discount - Liverpool
623 West Derby Road, Liverpool, Merseyside L13 8AG
30.11.2008
a cool little shop. it offers many basic household items, and sometimes the more quirkier items.
offers a range of basic gift sets, great for those last minute gifts that you dont have time to go into town for.
offers a variety of sweets and chocolates.
at the back of the store is a key cutters and shoe repair, again handy if you dont want to, or dont have the time to go into town.
prices are quite cheap, and you never know what you might find in store, a veritable aladdins cave.
T-Mobile - Liverpool
2 Clayton Square Shopping Centre, Liverpool, Merseyside L1 1QR

the staff were totally unhelpful.
and this is one of the reasons why i changed my network provider.
i find that the staff, if they cant get a quick sale, just dont want to know. its as if they have had no other customer service training other than how to get a sale.
my handset had broke, it was still under warranty and therefore i should have been entitled to a new replacement handset.
after taking my handset in store, i was told that the problem was that it was waterlogged, and i would not be able to get a replacement handset as i had dropped it in a bucket of water!
who in thier right mind drops thier mobile, their only means of communication ( at the time i had neither landline or internet at home), in a bucket of water?
to resolve this problem, i was told to go and buy another handset. why would i do this when the terms of the contract say that i was entitled to a new handset?
because the staff offered me no other solution than to purchase another handset, and because the staff in the call centre were also unhelpful, i resolved to change my provider, and to never, ever consider T-mobile again.
knibbd Sorry to disagree, but I know people (in the loosest sense of the word) who’ve….dropped their mobile down the toilet, left it in a pocket of a wash item and been using it in the bath and let go!
The assistants had probably heard these and more!
This doesn’t excuse their lack of customer support, however and I would have contacted T-Mobile themselves to complain.
