Little Yang Sing - Manchester

17 George Street, Manchester, Greater Manchester M1 4HE

23.11.2008

Manchester is full of Chinese restaurants but if you want a great one then you need to get yourself don’t to China town, naturally they do the best Chinese food around. Little Yang Sing is one of my favourite ones; I have been here a couple of times and always been happy with the service and the food on offer. It is a decent sized restaurant and they always are able to sit you even if you come down on a Saturday night. The decor does look a little dated, that could just be the Chinese influence but it doest take away from the decent food that they offer. It is more expensive that some of the ones you get in the city centre but the quality of food are better and you don’t feel as rushed.

Pure - Manchester

Unit 11-12 The Printworks 27 Withy Grove, Manchester, Greater Manchester M4 2BS

23.11.2008

I have been to Pure a few times but to be honest it’s not really for me. I will give it its due it is a decent sized super club in the print works. It’s very central and located beside some great bars in the city centre. The normally play music for the 70’s right up to present day music. Most people that go here are probably in their late teens or early 20’s. Quite often after closing times there can be a bit of trouble because some of the lads that go seem to think they have a point to prove so don’t get anyone have a go at you. It’s a good night out if you go in a group but for me it’s a bit Chavy and I would rather stick to the Northern Quarter

Simple Bar - Manchester

G20-21 Smithfield Buildings, Tib Street, Manchester, Greater Manchester M4 1LA

23.11.2008

I go out in the Northern Quarter every now and then and when I do I normally meet my mates in Simple, it’s been open a few years now and is one of the trendier bars in the Northern Quarter. The Northern Quarter seem to be the place to drink these day, once it use to be a dump but now it’s a great night out. It’s a great place to start a night out, or you can just nip in when shopping in town. It’s a trendy little place with lots of light. When I have some mates over from Amsterdam we went here for a few drinks, they loved it because they do a lot of European beers that you don’t get anywhere else it down, so if you like beers your will like it here

simplebar Thanks for your comments, its always nice to hear.

The Birdcage - Manchester

Withy Grove, Manchester, Greater Manchester M4 2BS

23.11.2008

The birdcage is great for a night out, even though it’s a drag act I would say at least half the people that go there are straight, it’s a good idea for parties or work nights out. It’s about £10 on a Saturday but you need to dress smart, even if they are busy thy won’t let lads in without shirts, don’t know why because when you get in there you see quite a lot of chavy people. The show is really good and some of the drag queens have obviously gone to a lot of effort. It’s a good night out and a great laugh. I have also been to the one in Leeds but I have to say the one in Manchester is much better; you get a better class of people there

Bacchanalia bar - Manchester

15-17 Chapel Walks, Manchester, Greater Manchester M2 1HN

23.11.2008

I love cocktails so I’ve been to this place a few times in the past year. It is dean’s gate and really popular, it’s always packed on a Friday and Saturday. It’s a nice trendy place that is kept simple. They have a massive cocktail menu so you can pretty much get what every you want. The staffs also have to make you cocktails if they are not listed. By day it is packed with shoppers, especially not it is Christmas and at night is full of trendy people having a few drinks, or if you are me on a Saturday night, more than a few, keep an eye on your spending though because it is quite expensive

Hard Rock Cafe - Manchester

Unit 7-9 The Printworks 27 Withy Grove, Manchester, Greater Manchester M4 2BS

23.11.2008

Right outside the print works you have the Hard rock cafe, there are all over the UK and probably most countries in the world by now. They do a great menu and rustle up a mean burger. The interior is filled with America memorabilia and bright neon lights. I love it in hear but it is a bit expensive. It is really central and great for bar hopping f you are in the print works; it is a bit pricey though so make sure you look at the drinks menu before ordering, especially if you are having a cocktail. The service is always fast and the staffs are always polite and fast.

Malmasion bar - Manchester

manchester hotel, picadilly, Manchester, Greater Manchester M1 3AQ

23.11.2008

When I had friend through a few weeks ago we went to Malmasion bar, this is a mint place to start a night out in the city centre. Its central, right beside the train station so if you live in greater Manchester its easy to get. The bar is very trendy and they do some great cocktails, it is a little ont he expensive side but not bad for a few drink, could afford to stay there all night though. The good thing about this place it that its aimed at a higher market than some of the other central bars so you doing get some of the chavy people that you might otherwise get. Its very trendy decor wise and very RED, if you ever go you will know what I mean

Avenue Hotel - Blackburn

Brockhall Village Old Langho, Blackburn BB6 8AY

20.11.2008

Over the summer I stayed at the Avenue Hotel in Blackburn, this is a fairly new hotel and you can see that as soon as you arrive, it looks new and is very modern and it is kept very clean inside. I would say it probably doesn’t have more than 30 rooms to it is not overly big, the rooms are quite comfortable and a fair since, I only stayed in the double so I’m not sure about the single. The area was nice and it was easy to get in and out of town. The have a restaurant and bar on site, to be hones tit was quite expensive but if your there for a weekend away you should let your hair down and have a few drinks because it is a nice environment

olivers orders - Blackburn

43-45 Darwen Street, No longer trading, Blackburn BB2 2BH

20.11.2008

If you work or live in this area it might be a good idea to try Oliver’s Orders. It’s a great Ideal for a small business in the area, I have not used it before but know some friend that have and will use it again. Its simple, you go on to the website and order your food, its idea for business lunches are over family occasions. From what I wear they deliver very quickly and the quality if the food is great.

New Welcome Restaurant - Blackburn

49 - 51 Darwen Street, Blackburn BB2 2BL

20.11.2008

I don’t go out in Blackburn very often, there is no real need with you live in Manchester, and I have a couple of friends there so I have gone out for a few meals and a few nights out. Last time I went through it was for a birthday and we ate at the New Welcome Restaurant, this is a Chinese and a take away also. I’m really keen on Chinese food so I picked the restaurant. It’s not an overly big building but it seats enough people and always seems busy. They offer some decent dishes and ever give you 5% off your meal if you spend over £30, which most people will if you are in a group. The food was great and the staffs was nice, I found it a little expensive but I guess they don’t have the same competition as Manchester so they can charge that little extra
