Le Meridien is one of those places that you’d never expect to stay in unless you were a celebrity or some one in a high position in the business world. Tourists and passer byers usually walk past it and consider how great the exterior is. I stayed here on a weekday evening and the décor is very plush. I was in awe just staring at the ceilings and statues. Put it this way, everything is expensive. From the marble floors to the bell boys, everything is to the highest quality. Squeaky clean mirrors in the lift and cleaned up carpets for the corridors. As for the rooms, they are massive and I’m not talking about the bathroom, because they too were also massive. You could fit a person into the bathroom for them to sleep on the floor! Also, there on the table were four glossy magazines from Harpers to Yes magazine. There were also complimentary chocolates, which I also found entertaining as I indulged them. Overall, the bathroom was nice and the king size bed was very cosy. The entire room was lovely and I definitely enjoyed myself, however, because of the size of the room, I got quite scared thinking that someone might pop out from the dark corners of the room. I think the price of the rooms range from £270-550 per night. I don’t think I need to say anymore, but 10 out of 10 for solid quality. Also, one last note, don't look outside the window because that's a different reality; the backstreets of central London.

Tokyo Diner

Tokyo Diner is such a relaxed spot. It is styled like a Japanese restaurant in the middle of Tokyo. From the side way sliding doors, natural wood interior and Japanese waitresses all waiting to take your order, you’ll feel like you’ve just arrived in Japan. I’ve been here several times because the place is non-complicated. The menus have everything you’d expect from a sushi restaurant with ramen and great bento box dishes to enjoy. I usually come here for the lunch time bento box and I find them very filling. I recommend this place to my friends and to you as it is a hassle-free Japanese zone. However, it does get busy during the evenings so coming during the day when the sun is out is probably best. Lots of Japanese calligraphy on the wall and a good view of what’s happening downstairs in Newport place. It is a good place to have a conversation with your friends and there are also pegs on the walls for people to hook their jackets and bags for extra security. The price ranges from £7, which is good enough for such a lively and peaceful atmosphere. I found that the sunny days in the upstairs area were the best days to come here. This is a good place for couples, yet you might have to book in advance if you’d like to bring a group of four. The Tokyo diner is not large enough for big parties unfortunately.; (

This Hilton Olympia is located in a good location. It is only 10- 15 minutes walk away from High Street Kensington, and the rooms are large enough for a double bed with some little space. Everything was in good order, from the pillows, blankets, and cleanliness of the rooms, however, there was only one problem and that was the stopper in the bathtub. We had to ask room service to check up on our problem at 9pm, and they sorted it out. Something worth bearing in mind. There was a good view of roads outside and the customer assistance was just fine. The décor is very 4 star hotel and good enough for a 4 star. It is not the crazy hype that everyone expects from an amazing Hilton hotel, because it isn’t that amazing. The rooms range from £90 per night, but you better book in advance just to make sure you get a room on time. Overall the hotel rooms are clean and the food in the restaurant is more than average yet, not amazing so don’t get too excited.

I approve of this Hilton in comparison to the Olympia one. It was a Friday afternoon and it was easy to book a double room via phone . I found that this hotel was popular in comparison to the Olympia version, however this time round I was going during the Christmas season so maybe that was the reason why. Although, we booked for a double room, the room was as big as the bed. The bathroom was smaller, but sufficient. It was a little more cosier and I preferred it. There was not much difference in terms of décor like the Olympia branch, but maybe that was because of the size of the room. Maybe the blankets were warmer as well. The breakfast buffet was inclusive and very nice. You could eat as much as you want and it never ran out. I enjoyed my one night stay overall and found it was very civilised. I believe this hotel was a tiny bit more pricier than the Olympia version, but you were paying for the location, which is essentially Kensington and Chelsea, the most expensive area in the UK, and Notting Hill Gate is only 20 minutes walk. However, I found that the walk to Holland Park station was 10 minutes long and honestly, that's too long. You better make sure you take the bus or have a good conversationalist to pass the time quick.

Crispy Duck Chinese

Every time I go clubbing in the West End, this is the place I end it. The restaurant goes on after 3am to fill late goers' and clubber’s tummies. It is very busy during the evenings and particularly after late hours because customers are no longer sober. Drinking alcohol only makes you hungrier, so this place is perfect place for fatty, cheap, and filling food. Chinese food has its reputation for being greasy and unhealthy with the amount of oil and chemicals that the Chinese use on them, which is why this place receives a lot of attention. This place has up to four floors and large tables that can serve eight people, and if you have more people, the waiters will help you put together another table. However, during these drunkard hours, customers can get nasty and on these occasions there will never be a clean fight. I’ve seen waiters shout at customers and chuck them out, which is all entertaining for your drunkard state. You can talk as loud as you want and eat as much as you want, which ensures that you'll enjoy the rest of your night. The price ranges from £5, which is very cheap, yet I was sad at 4am once when they stopped serving lychee. This place is not plush and not sophisticated. The Chinese food here is basic, but does well for 3am on a Saturday night, so I’d definitely recommend it. Yet, if you want Chinese delicacy then look elsewhere because that’s not what the Crispy Duck restaurant excels at.
