Oxfam Bookshop, Headingley - Leeds

15 Otley Road, Leeds, West Yorkshire LS6 3AA

30.10.2008 (aktualisiert am 16.04.2009)

A great bookshop with a really wide range of stock including some rather bizarre individuals amongst them. They used to sell vinyl as well. The books are reasonable in price and the proceeds go to charity.

paxton hall - Leeds

Leeds, West Yorkshire LS5 2AB

A small community hall next to the Salvation Army, currently home to many classes such as martial arts and slimming world. the decor is slightly dated but the all serves its purpose and is fully equipped with toilets and a functioning kitchen.

Sandwich Corner - Idle

3 Leeds Road, Bradford, West Yorkshire BD10 9TD

The best sandwich shop ever, even if I did used to bang my head going down the little stone steps to get inside. They do a massive flat cake full of English Breakfast goodies like sausage, bacon, mushroom , egg, tomato and beans. Its yummy and you will definitely be full afterwards just make sure to have a cloth to hand to wipe the juice off your chin!

Morrison - Idle

Although the cafe isn’t brilliant the supermarket alone more than makes up for it. A fairly large supermarket stocking plenty of special offers. If you don’t mind sticking things in the freezer till you need them then can I suggest you go half an hour before close as they reduce all the fresh breads etc to silly prices. :)

Goose On Bridge Street - Bradford

14 Market Street, Bradford, West Yorkshire BD1 1LH

This place can get very busy but I love it here. Probably because their barbecue chicken melt is divine and to die for. The seating leaves a little to be desired as it is sofa’s and I struggle getting up off them unaided, other than that though its great, they have regular drinks promotions on with a pint of Smiths costing £1.59!! They also offer meal deals too.

Lloyds No. 1 Bar - Bradford

Centenary Square, Bradford, West Yorkshire BD1 1HY

03.11.2008

A great pub, situated on a large terraced space with an outdoor screen perfect for summer. Inside there are two floors both with built in seating. Drinks prices are reasonable with there being a very large range of drinks available. The menu is ok although sometimes there are things on the menu which are unavailable.

Oddfellows Arms - Bradford

Harrogate Road, Bradford, West Yorkshire BD10 0QE

03.11.2008

Wow this place brings back memories, both good and bad, from the karaoke nights on a weekend when everybody had a good time and got involved in having a laugh, to the scantily dressed girls who tried it on with my bloke and the physical and verbal abuse I received. These were odd occasions though and not regular occasions. On average it was a pretty good night.

Prospect Hotel - Bradford

Stone Hall Road, Bradford, West Yorkshire BD2 2EJ

Although somewhat small appearing the main attraction of this pub has to be the beer garden, as large as it is and situated perfectly to be a sun trap - obviously you need it to be sunny in order for this to happen. There is a kids playground outside too.

They offer food and their prices are very reasonable, service is always with a smile

The Old Bank - Bradford

69 Market Street, Bradford, West Yorkshire BD1 1NE

03.11.2008

When I first moved to Bradford I did originally think this was a bank and upon realising it was a pub it seemed very grown up and not my cup of tea at all. However on venturing in there I was pleasantly suprised, the staff at the time were great, really friendly and I went clubbing with a few of them. There is an upstairs area as well as the ground floor area, it is a lot more laid back than Yates.

Walkabout Inn - Bradford

Chester Street, Bradford, West Yorkshire BD5 0AA

Although regularly packed with student and young ones, this place is great for all ages. They often have live music, or celebritys, if you include soap stars as celebrities lol. It can be a little stuffy but its cheap and cheerful what more do you need?
