stand up comedy courses - New Cross
The London Comedy Course, Lower Space, 443 New Cross Road, London SE14 6TA

This has to be the best evening class in London if not the UK. Loved it, hard work but you learn so much about yourself and your inner comedy voice. The tutor is a hedline comic who plays places like Jongleurs each week so you actually can see what he teaches works. The whole class bonds and supports each other. We had a major comedy club promotor actually doing our course as a student and this is the course it seems the industry professionals recommend you do. if this was an acting school it would be RADA. Comedy promoters actually turn up at the showcase to find the new undiscovered talent, one girl on our course has been spotted this way and is doing some big clubs and getting paid bookings.

Overpriced and what a con, order fish and chips and they ask mushy peas or salad, I opted for mushy peas! and then the bills comes and the over priced fish and chips has £4 added for the mushy peas - staff know they ask in a certain way and even when I approached the manager, she said well I should have read the menu better. They got caught and didnt like it and the management have instructed the staff to ask the question as though the standard side dishes with fish and chips sound included and then added at the end. May work with tourist but Londoners suss what's going on. Also when you arrive they put bread on table as you order and then that is automatically charged also. even if you dont touch it.

Saw a play there, Be warned this is not actually a theatre but a space and a bit annoyed they call themselves a fringe theatre space. Theatre has no loos, no bar, the venue is actually freezing and not just cold but freezing and theatre lighting for this production was just two living room lamps. I know it's a historical site but Jesus, don't advertise it as a fringe theatre when it has no basic facilities. The website doesn't even give the correct address of the venue. The venue was packed and although we booked, there was no seats for us and the poor company who were performing there and hired the venue had to start late while the mangagement sourced extra seats.

avoid, full of chavs and the most unfriendy landlord in the UK, How come a Channel 4 doc on Britains worst landlords hasn't featured this man yet I do not know. Pity as if another person was running it, it would be a desintation pub as has great views

great beers but really hot on drinking up time, so much so they clear up before 11pm and lights out and hanging over you to leave dead on 11pm.
Good points beer is fanastic and own brewed
bad points - staff seem more interested in themselves and their drama school mates then serving customers
