We stayed at The Oyster Inn, Connel near Oban a few days ago and were delighted with everything!Our room “Linhe” was immaculate and very stylish, spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was huge also, something you dont see often and the power shower was amazing. We arrived and were welcomed by the friendliest staff we’ve came across and our stay is one of the best we’ve had. The views from the hotel are stunning, the service is second to none and the food was outstanding.It is reasonably priced but we got a deal making it a real bargain. Absolute luxury.

A family run and owned local funeral directors who reside within the local area and really care about their clientelle. The business opened in 1994 and has moved from strength to strength assisting families within the three towns area and beyond. The staff are all very friendly and helpful and the premises itself is beautiful. Paul Stevenson is very active within the business and his wife Fiona also assists. This is very much a family run concern that really strives on making sure everything is just right for the families they serve.

This is a great little chinese carry out located in Hamilton Street in Saltcoats Town Centre. The food is amazing and the staff are always so friendly and helpful despite the language barrier. You have to try their szechuan sweet and sour chicken, its amazing and the fish tank in the waiting area has some of the biggest fish in it I have ever seen!

This is a great looking chinese restaurant where the food and service are both exceptional. There is gentle music playing in the background and a meal here could be part of a fantastic night out. The restaurant also does take away and is located on the Sandgate within the main town centre. There is a few parking spaces nearby and if your out for an evening meal the parking area is normally quiet so that shouldnt be a problem. I’ve been here a few times and have never been disappointed. An ideal place for family meals, birthdays or anniversaries for something a bit more special.

Great shop that sells everything!! Literally everything! From bulbs and electrical to plumbing to hoover bags, washing machines, you name it they have it. Its an aladins cave of things and somewhere that you’ll be glad you came across. So whether its an element for a fireplace or something you dont even know the name of, if your going to get it, you’ll get it here. They also sell decoration swords etc for anyone who collects that sort of thing.

Local newsagent and Tobacconist. Gillian and the staff are all lovely, friendly and make buying your daily newspaper a thing to look forward to. They have all the books, magazines and cards you will need and are happy to order anything they dont have that you require.

A local florist who is very artistic and can arrange anything from a traditional bouquet to anything you want really. Their flowers are always lovely and they have various things in stock but are always able to get things that little bit different when required. The arrangements are always very nice and quite fancy but their prices are still very reasonable for what you get. The are located in the hamilton street so are easily accessible for if your shopping in Saltcoats or why not have something delivered for that special occasion for someone close to your heart.

Local florist/nursery where you can get the freshest flowers for a great price. David and all the staff are very helpful and will accommodate anything you ask for if the can. Their nursery is located close to Kilwinning Cemetery and not far from the main town centre itself but they will happily deliver anything which is generally the easiest way to arrange things. Always a great idea for an extra special gift.

Local fish and chip shop with a cafe for a sit in tea loacted just off the main shopping area in Saltcoats. Chris runs a great shop and the food is second to none at good prices very and this place is very popular. There is parking just across the street from the shop so you wont be stuck and its just around the corner from the shore front if you want to go for a stroll afterwards to burn off some calories.

A great place for a chinese meal especially their lunch time specials. You can have 3 courses from around £6 with a wide range of choices. The food is always good and the staff are very friendly and despite their english not being great, they really do try and you always get what you order. There is parking locally also and the restaurant does take away also.
