When I were a lad, butchers like Mr Stenton were not uncommon. Men who cared about what they sold you and would give advice on how to cook what they sold. The proliferation of supermarkets selling meats has swept most of them away, but that's all the more reason to cherish a gem like Stentons. Don't just buy 'Chicken Breasts' - buy the bird, roast it, make some soup. Try the sausages. Big fat fellas for the adults, and skinny chippas for the children. I've bought my Christmas Turkey from here for the past 15 years. Superb. Bottom line is, he cares, he knows what he is doing, and his meat is very very good.
