You would be well-advised to book in advance if you intend to eat here at the weekend, and despite the fact that English is not spoken by all of the staff, they take great pleasure in enthusiastically assisting their clientele with their menu selection. The reports regarding the service in this particular establishment are excellent.

Ristorante Dolce Vita - Ansbach

Büttenstr. 16, 91522 Ansbach

25.01.2011

Reviewed by ** buzzoffbase.com ** The Longo family runs the locally favorite Dolce Vita within the hotel Fantasie, serving a mouth-watering cross section of Italian dishes including many varieties of pasta and pizza. They also have a great selection of desserts and starters including many soups and also antipasti. Great prices and service will result in you returning time after time to savor the tasty cooking. Why not try one of the Dolce Vita’s specialties for dessert? — the ice cream sundaes are huge! And a capuccino always goes down well. As an alternative, the menu also includes one or two more unusual items such as the fresh mussels which you can have with a fresh green side salad. Vegetarian menu available.

Gasthaus Zum Mohren - Ansbach

Pfarrstr. 8, Gasthöfe, 91522 Ansbach

25.01.2011

Reviewed by ** buzzoffbase.com ** A range of German specialties are featured on the listing at the Zum Mohren pub restaurant, including schnitzel, sausages and naturally many different types of potato. The spätzle, which is homemade, is well worth a try — you could order this dish either as a starter or side dish to your main course and can be served with a green salad and roast onions. There is a nice selection of French wines and German beers on offer and you will also find a few foreign items and some great seafood dishes on the list as a bonus. For instance, as an alternative to the local sauerkraut or schitzel, you may want to go for a chocken curry served with coconut and pineapple, or a pasta dish with white wine sauces and smoked salmon. Fresh local produce is used to create the best of seasonal offerings.

Kammerspiele - Ansbach

Maximilianstr. 27 A, 91522 Ansbach

25.01.2011

Reviewed by ** buzzoffbase.com ** The Kammerspiele is well-known for its baguettes, stone-oven pizzas, currywurst and fresh salads, but also offers something a little different; for those who just fancy a quick snack with their drinks (the local beers and wines are superb), there is an innovative “finger food” selection on offer. The Kammerspiele is not just a restaurant — it’s a trendy art and culture center. They regularly host art workshops, various festivals and events and, of course, live music!

Restaurant Korfu - Ansbach

Uzstr. 21, 91522 Ansbach

25.01.2011

Reviewed by ** buzzoffbase.com ** Reasonable prices, friendly English-speaking staff, and the large portions of superb Greek dishes have made the Korfu one of the most popular restaurants of any nationality within the military community of Ansbach. If you want souvlaki, gyros or fresh fish, this would be a good choice of venue. Although the eatery is quite large overall, it is cleverly divided into much smaller alcoves and corners, making it the ideal spot for a date in intimate, private surroundings. Whatever you choose for your meal, try to leave a space afterwards for some baklava together with a drink of Greek wine off the dessert menu. Excellent.

La Corona Vinothek & Bar - Ansbach

Joh-Seb-Bach-Platz 20, 91522 Ansbach

25.01.2011

Reviewed by ** buzzoffbase.com ** La Corona Restaurant and Vinothek proudly claims to be one of the most popular venues in Ansbach, using top quality premium ingredients that can be smelled a mile away as they are being enthusiastically prepared. The relaxed and extremely cultured ambiance creates a great venue for a date or to bring your Stateside visitors for a meal. Amongst the highlights of a comprehensive menu are: the lamb covered in olives, and also candied orange peel served along with carrots plus potatoes au gratin; and the venison ragout with beetroot dumplings. For desert you could try the Crème Brulee and stewed rhubarb, buttermilk and lemon iced-cream. The owners of La Corona Restaurant are passionate about their wines and are more than willing to chat a little about the finest vintages they have on offer from their cellar.

Madame Thu Trang - Ansbach

Platenstraße 2, 91522 Ansbach

25.01.2011

Reviewed by ** buzzoffbase.com ** This is the place to go in Ansbach if you’re after fresh Sushi, Vietnamese or Indochine dishes. Madam Thu Trang’s also provides a takeaway service and an excellent delivery service too. The menu is comprehensive, providing a wide variety of Asian dishes, but the noodle offering of Vietnamese Pho is considered to be their specialty. Beverages are comprehensive, including: asashi, Kirin beer, tsingtao, lychee wine, sake, and plum wine. There’s also a full choice of exotic juices to choose from.

Maharaja Indian Restaurant - Ansbach

Nuernberger Strasse 20, 91580 Ansbach

25.01.2011

Reviewed by ** buzzoffbase.com ** The Indian people seem to be a warm, friendly nation by nature, and it is no surprise that you will always receive such a welcome in the Maharajah Ansbach restaurant. If you really want to test your buds, try the Vindaloo and ask them for the spicy version! The ambiance and decor of this restaurant is unusual for an Indian restaurant—it’s more reminiscent of the Italian style cafe—but the grub is nonetheless excellent and more than compensates for any dodgy wallpaper.
