Liverpool Kendo Club - Kata Session - Crosby

Liverpool Kendo Dojo is a member of the British Kendo Association which is a member of the European Kendo Federation and the International Kendo Federation. With regular kendoka training attending from the Wirral, Knowsley, Lancashire, Sefton, Halton, Cheshire, Lancashire and Liverpool.

Kendo is Japanese for 'the way of the sword' and is a traditional Japanese martial art using bamboo swords and armour. In the simplest of terms it's the inspiration for Swordplay on Wii Sports Resort on the Nintendo Wii.

We have beginners sessions every quarter so please check the website to see when you can come and take part, first session is free, fees are £20 per calendar month [£10 concessions].

We host two kata sessions a month that is included in the above fees. Kata is an important part of kendo and teaches specific forms of attack and counter attack that can be taken forward into the weekly kendo fencing.
