Went to my first gig here recently, wow is all I can say. Great pub with their own beer, small but perfect venue thro the back. Bar inside venue as well as some seating (which is handy for us oldies). Love the size of the place as you get up close and personal with the band and the sound. Beer was a good price or a venue too.

I am a complete couch potato yet I love this class. Friendly and yet at the same time pushes you to try more and to help get you into that dress for the summer.
Only £3.50 for a class which I think is pretty good going for not only the excercise but the support given at the same time.
Seriously if I can do it anyone can!

Not as quaint as it's neighbour next door, but a bit bigger.
Good service and some good old edinburgh pictures to keep you occupied. Couple of screens with sports results on, some good old fashioned pub decor. £3.10 for a pint of tennents tho, those darned edinburgh prices.

smashing little time warp boozer. Kitted out in 70's tastic decor with railway kitsch aboud. Dinky toilets to match. Nice n clean, friendly staff, good selection of booze, much of it real ale.
Minus point for asking for Fraoch and getting something else!

ate downstairs in the Cafe on a 5pm deal - two people, two course for £12. The prices in brackets are the normal menu prices charged.
Pale Smoked Haddock and pea risotto with a parmesan crisp £ 5.95
creamy not too fishy and a perfect portion for a starter. Decided that this was the best choice out of the two starters.
Rogano Fish Soup, Roulle, Parmasan, Croutons £4.95
Bit of an overpowing fennel taste and not enough of a fishy taste :(
Oven roasted salmon fillet wrapped in Parma ham, red pepper aioli, sauteed shitake mushrooms, broad beans and creamed mash £12.95
beautifully cooked salmon, very moist. Melt in your mouth stuff. Very impressed with the quality.
Grilled fillets of seabass, crab risotto bon bons, salsa verdi and tempura courgette £13.95
Again beautifully cooked fish (well they should know how to cook it here!), tempura was a little bit soggy but still good. Fish worked well with the salsa verdi.
This deal was 2 courses for £12, you can upgrade for oysters and steak, as well as get a bottle of wine for an added £14.50.
Great value for money especially in these well known surroundings.

Where to start,
Smoked chicken that tasted like the sandwich style chicken out of a supermarket not smoked at all, overpowering balsamic vinegar.
Scallops were quite fishy tasting which overpowered the rest of the dish, bland black pudding did not blend well with the scallops. Couldn’t taste vinaigrette at all.
Pork belly was almost all fat, what meat there was was half dry and not moistened by the fat at all. Rather a large fatty piece. Noodles were drenched in sauce, which tasted like soy sauce and not a five spice sauce, one cashew as well!
Gnocchi were mushy and more like stodgy dumplings, onions were delish but overall the dish was poor.
Risotto was lovely!
No asking our opinon on any part of the meal, hot plates placed down without warning, when we complained about the meals the owner looked at us blankly. Offered us desserts which considering the quality of the other dishes we declined, we didn’t even want to try the coffee.
Very bad meal, worst I have had in Glasgow, poor customer service and now I know why the car park was so empty!

Excellent old interior, lovely gantry and good atmosphere. Serves Stafford Press Cier, Bellhaven Best, Stalla, Hoegarten, Guinness, Budvar, Duvel, Corona, Magners, Innes & Gunn as well as guest ales. We had a 1/2 each of Farne Island and Old Mortality -£2.90. Thought the toilets would be a good sight with the rest of the victoriana but they were boringly modern, although clean.

victorian styled pub with gorgous ornate cornicing on ceiling. Friendly staff, good selection of real ales as well as other beers such as Budvar, Fruili, Peroni, Bitburger and Weihenstephen Hefe Weiss. We had a half each of Avalanche and Avondale coming to £2.95. Toilets were clean but a little hot and stuffy.

Excellent situation in the Stockbridge area of Edinburgh, with some lovely bars and restaurants within walking distance. Usual sparse Travelodge interior but clean bathroom and shower, tv was a little high up the wall but then there wasn’t much room to put it due to it being an old building. Building has great views and handy for buses. Architecture of the building lovely too. Tea and coffee for a quick drink too. Does what travelodges do, budget bed for the night.

BEWARE! Although the food is cheap the drink is extortionate. I got charged £4 for a G&T, other half £4.50 for a kopperberg! The food - small portion but ok - penne Carbonara, bacon & garlic Cream sauce - passable for a quick meal/snacky type of thing but a bit watery and small portion. Other half had Gnocchi with tomatoes, olives and mozzarella, v nice but again small portion. we had some chips (that we were bullied into agreeing to) and garlic (or non garlic tasting) ciabatta and cheese. The chips allegedly has spice - they were greasy and no spice was noted. We ended with Chocolate fondue £3.50 per person, promoted as
“Marshmallows, mini cookies, banana, strawberries, white &
dark chocolate dipping sauce” Mini cookies were normal sized digestive biscuits and no white and chocolate dipping sauce just dark chocolate. There are no menus around to check that what you receive is correct. There are also no prices on the beer/spirits menu, so get ready for your shock.
