Copplestones Bridal - Liverpool

It has all sorts of dresses in and is very different to a normal shop. You book an appointment and go and look through all the dresses (there are hundreds of them on rails!) and the great part is that they’re all the top labels from the high street wedding shops but for much less! No dress is more than £300. Mine had a price tag of £1200 but was only £300! You can then either put a deposit on it and pay it off or pay for it then. Then you can go back and have a fitting with their seamstress (Angela is lovely!) a couple of weeks before the wedding.
You don’t get the same fuss as in an expensive shop but they have made the place as nice as possible – and then you can go off for a glass of wine in Liverpool afterwards!
Good luck with the dress hunting!

Absolutely faultless. Peter and James are so kind and genuinely interested in our dog. Would recommend to anyone in the Chester area.

I stayed here with my Mum on a city break a couple of years ago and have to say that it s still one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in. I love how modern and clean it is and the staff a re mega efficient but they’re not a fast as the lift which is so quick it makes you feel like you’re going into orbit! On arrival we asked if we could get a decent view and this was no problem - our room was facing the TV tower and that big globe thing with all the times on. They were working more on the site while we were there so it muc=st look even better now! Can’t wait to go back!

For me, this Sainsbury’s has got it all! It stocks the mens, womens and childrens clothing, books, dvd, cds, toys, homeware and has a butcher, hot meat, deli counter, and bakery. Further to this there is a decent pharmacy (which even sells pet medication now!) and a Timpson key cutting place near to the front. There’s also a shopper’s restaurant and a good newsagenty bit. My favourite thing about this Sainsbury’s has to be the self serve checkout - so long as you don’t get the item that the barcode’s fell off - you’re golden!
Pizza Hut - Ellesmere Port

As these go, the one near to Cheshire Oaks Vue cinema isn’t bad at all. It’s got better parking than some of the other restaurants nearby as it’s on a slightly different area of the shopping park. It’s perfect for a cheap meal before or after the cinema or for taking a group of kids to the bowling nearby. My only gripe is that there always seems to be food on the floor! The staff are friendly and helpful but they’re not quick enough to clean the place properly for my liking! Something else I noticed recently is that there is a collection counter as you walk in which is particularly good if you’ve done a mammoth shop at the shopping park and just want to get home!
Amber Lounge - Chester
8 Watergate Row North, Chester, Cheshire CH1 2LD
19.11.2008
Located on the historic rows in Chester city centre, Amber Lounge is not too well advertised and might not be spotted by someone who did not know the city centre to well. This would be a shame as Amber Lounge is a good stop on a night out for a large vodka and coke, a decent wine menu and fairly good music dj. I am not sure if they do food here but think if they do it would probably be OK. There is not a big charge at the door at weekends which unfortunately does bring a lesser classed clientele but generally you’re sure to have a good time here! Service is good, staff are friendly and decor is modern and sultry. There always seem to be bouncers on the door which can be a good thing and a bad thing!
Duttons - Chester
10-12 Godstall Lane, Chester, Cheshire CH1 1LN
19.11.2008
This bar and restaurant located between the rows and the cathedral in Chester city centre continues to prove to be popular with locals, visitors and shoppers alike. In the daytime it serves sandwiches, nachos and the rest of the menu and in the evening is found to be teaming with groups of well behaved friends drinking the good wines, good bottles of beers and good draught lagers and bitters on offer. Its also a great place to stop for a dreamy hot chocolate and a cake in the afternoon. Duttons does a great offer with a bottle of wine and nachos but at the time of writing I can’t remember how much it is! just get down there and give it a go!
CAFFE ATINA - Chester
103 Foregate Street, Chester, Cheshire CH1 1HE

This coffee and tea room has got a prime location in Chester city centre near to Argos and Woolworths. It has been a round for a good few years now and is frequented by those who like good coffee and good food. My favourite here is the brie and cranberry baguettes but I’ve been here for breakfast too and it serves a good veggie breakfast if you are that way inclined! I’ve been here when thee just isn’t any space to sit but it’s worth a shot as you won’t be disappointed. It’s called The Gallery of course as it has its wall adorned with local artists’ work which is for sale. There are plenty if different styles displayed here but nothing’s suited my taste or budget just yet!
Shrewsbury Arms - Mickle Trafford
Warrington Road, Chester, Cheshire CH2 4EB
19.11.2008
Located just out of Chester along the A56, this traditional old pub boasts some of the best food around and is hugely popular throughout the week aswell as at the weekend. The menu has been the same for a good long while but there are specials chalked up on the board each day that are always worth looking at. There’s a good choice of lagers and bitters on draught and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. You can of course just visit here for a drink too but a taxi home could get pricey due to its location especially if you don’t have a designated driver! I particularly like the mushroom stroganoff and my partner always plumps for the beer battered fish and chips.
Toby Carvery - Hoole Village
Warrington Road, Chester, Cheshire CH2 4EX
19.11.2008
Located just outside of Chester city centre towards the Mickle Trafford area, the toby carvery is attached to a motel which is a good place to stop over if you are visiting Chester and would prefer to stay in a chain instead of one of the bed and breakfasts on Hoole Road. The Carvery otherwise known as The Royal Oak is immensely popular with the locals thoughout the week aswell as at the weekend. The beauty is the price which can be between £5 and £8 for a serving of the carvery which includes turley, ham and beef with a veggie option along with a host of veggies which usually include caluliflower cheese, roasted parsnips, broccoli, yorkshire puds and roast potatoes. Of course there’s gravy on hand to top it all off!
