Go here for the large (12"/six slices) pizzas & beer in pints! Great.

Anchor Pub - Oldbury-on-Severn

Anchor Pub, Bristol BS1 2BD

Old stone village pub, nicely kept garden  & largest boules area I've ever seen. "Homecooked" food, didn't have time to eat, but looked as a popular place to eat as to drink.

Sitting in front of an open log fire was fantastic on a cold September afternoon.

For special occasions we always go here. Food is great if a little pricey. Service is fast and efficient.

Old Trafford Lodge - Old Trafford

Talbot Way, Manchester, Greater Manchester M16 0PX

Negative Points
Debit card left in suitcase - details stolen and used! Manager unconcerned and unapologetic.
Cricket ground being updated so lots of noise/dust from the work under taken
Make sure you ask for a view of the cricket ground not the car park
Rooms need updating and deep cleaning.
TV remote controls did not work

Some Plus points
Comfortable & Spacious rooms
Nice breakfast laid on
Secured car park
Handy location for metro link tram to take you into the centre

Bell's Diner - Bristol

1-3 York Road, Bristol BS6 5QP

Heard and wanted to go here for such a long time, it was great to have the opportunity to do so last Saturday evening.

Not many places have me asking myself 'how did they do that?', or 'wow, why have I never eaten this before?' and 'I would never have thought of combining this ingredient with that!!'.

Nonetheless the food was fantastically surprising and packed full of taste. The service, warm, informal and welcoming.

A place to go for a treat or special occasion (depending on the depth of your pockets), two of us went, three courses and four glasses of wine, the bill came to just shy of £100 including service charge.

If you want the "Man vs Food" experience stop in and grab a sandwich or roll customised to your exact requirements.
Truly awesome and the best priced sandwich shop in central Bristol.

Bewleys Hotel Leopardstown - Dublin

Central Park Leopardstown Road, D18 Dublin

Nice enough hotel. Great breakfast selection. If you’re staying for more than three nights, you might find the evening restaurant menu a bit limited. Free internet connection as long as you purchase a LAN cable from the front desk. Does everything you’d expect of a hotel perfectly well.
It’s not far from the racecourse and the tram station to take you all the way to Dublin centre. Other than that there’s not much to do in the immediate area.

Miss Sophie’s - Prag

Melounova 3, 120 00 Praha

Spent 2 nights here. Great price, service and location (10 mins walk from the National Museum).
It can be noisy given the mainly concrete interior & self closing doors. (TIP; Book a room at the rear and on floor > 1, you should be ok).
The breakfast provided is awesome, I highly recommend it as the perfiect start before a day’s romp around Prague.
Two of our party were ill on the last day of our mini break, the hotel waived the 11 o’clock check out time, they were allowed to stay in the room until the taxi arrived at 7pm, and supplied free dvds to kill the time.

Riverstation Restaurant - Bristol

The Grove, Bristol BS1 4RB

16.03.2011 (aktualisiert am 04.12.2011)

Awesome.
Ate upstairs, couldn’t fault the service.
Less informal eating situated downstairs.
Starter: Had the wild rabbit ravioli (£8), my partner the baked crotin goats cheese (£7.50)
Mains: pan fried halibut (£19), my partner the risotto with pumpkin (£14.50)
Had a couple of glasses of the house red.
So full we could only share the artisan cheeses between us (£6.50)
Great food and great locale.
Perfect.
