When cycling along the canal found this nature reserve. I didn't realise what it was at first. 

As I entered I could then hear some nutcase in the distance screaming and bellowing like a demented gibbon spoiling the sound of birdsong. I then realised he was directing his noise at myself as I was on a cycle, doing about 1mph if that. The said nutcase carried on screaming and shouting as he stomped over to my position itching his armpits.

He didn't introduce himself or show any identification, but I presumed from the building he came from he was some sort of caretaker, escaped mental patient or both. Carrying on with his obnoxious power trip he proceeded to shout as though he was talking to a child telling me off for even daring to cycle around these parts.

I was going to explain to him that I had not seen any signs on the way in which said No Cycling. As I couldn't get a word in edgeways I simply turned around and walked out with my cycle smiling to myself knowing that one day someone will lob this idiot in one of the ponds.

When I worked at Leeds Bradford airport used to occasionally pop in for fish and chips. It’s consistently pretty good, although if you sit in to eat you pay about 60% more, so would normally get it from the takeaway part and sit outside if it wasn’t raining.

The portions are big, and the fish is always good, although sometimes find that the chips are a bit greasy and could be cooked for longer. Not sure what they fry in?

The place is always busy, mostly fleecing grey haired patrons of their hard earned pensions.

Edit – I went back recently for the first time in 3 years and it’s ridiculously expensive for the takeaway.

I'm surprised this place is still open. We used to call it Raw Deals for obvious reasons.

The chips were spot on my most recent visit. Haven't had any as good since. When I lived in Scarborough years ago I always found them a bit hit and miss so good to see they have upped their standard.

Awful. The bloke in a dress drag DJ shouted on the microphone not to worry about the straight looking guys at the front (us) as we were going to **** off soon. Heterophobic. The worst thing was some of our group was gay and even they will never step foot in the place ever again.

Waited nearly 10 minutes in the queue then when I got to the front as I was halfway through saying my order the girl serving me was interrupted by the woman frying, who looked like she was in charge, to serve a guy who had shouted his order from the front door and wasn't even in the shop nevermind the queue. I presume he was a regular which they allow to skip the queue. Then I had to repeat my order when they finally got around to serving me. Terrible customer service and no way to run a business, and as a result my family won't go near the place ever again. On the food front the chips were rubbish.

When can we give zero stars.

This place was my local when over recently. Great little bar with staff who always made you feel welcome. Good place for watching football and rugby, get in early for big games to bag a seat.

Do not get the burger.

£12 and it was full of gristle with an awful onion relish. If you are going to charge £12 for a burger make sure you don't buy cheap meat.

When I asked for no cheese on the burger I got a sarcastic comment from the waitress asking me whether I was allergic to cheese. Then when the burger came out there had been cheese on the burger as there was small spots on the top. Which wasn't the relish as that was a different colour.

Ordered from here recently and thought it was pretty good. I thought at last I’ve found somewhere that does Sesame Prawn Toast and not the weird Prawn Toast other places seem to do.

However, I tried to order online again and they rejected my order saying they were too busy when in fact there was a dusting of snow anyone could drive on. That is the first time I have ever been told no by a takeaway. Shame on you Grumpy House.

If they have private parties upstairs they should have a sign at the bottom of the stairs saying so, instead of letting people walk all the way upstairs to be then told by some doorman that it is a private party and you then have to walk all the way back down.
