This Hotel is by far the best hotel and also restaurant in Rezekne. I have stayed in this Hotel a few times and also eaten there on many occasions. The rooms are clean and "non" soviet era" from 25 Lats a night for a single room.
If you ever eat there, then the food is good, especially the Pizza, of which I have submitted a picture. It was the best Pizza they had and the best Pizza I have ever eaten! :) Cost me just 2-50 lats, about £3-00. The restaurant overlooks the river and is L shaped and very elegant. The staff all speak Englssih and are very very friendly...
Rezekne people are the most polite people I have met in all of my travels in Latvia.

Apsara Tea House - Riga

I have been to this tea house several times when I lived in Riga. The upstairs is cool, with large multi-coloured cushions spaced out on the floor to sit, and look out of the windows over the park and water.
I have fond memories of this place. Just far away enough from the Old Town as not to be a tourist attraction too much! :)
Very popular upstairs with students studying.

I LOVE Double Coffee! :) I have spent a lot of time in this chain of Restaurants in Riga. I am now possibly moving to Liepaja, where there is no DC so I will miss them very much! :(
Most DC's are in the centre of Riga and the food is excellent, the choice is excellent, the menu is excellent and written in English, so no confusion when ordering. The food always looks good and tastes good as well.
I must admit though, some DC's are better than others in Riga.

Good food, good accommodation and very nice people that run and own this all rounder.
Just 5 room guest house/hotel and very clean. Cost me 25lats a night a few years ago before I moved there. I lived in Cesis for 18 Months, so know this Restaurant, Bar and Guest House very well.
Must have eaten a couple of hundred times here. Menu in Latvian and English... and "No" Russian, which is very strange? Never did ask why.
Nice patio in the better weather and line-dancing either Wed or Thurs evenings, can't remember though. :)
Sensible and a civilised atmosphere at all times. Beware some other places in Cesis, they are not all as civilised as this establishment.
Just turn left at the fire station and it's on the right a hundred yards down... a little GEM! :)
If you ever get there, mention "The EnglishMan" they will certainly remember me! :)
