The doorman and the coat clerk wear tuxedos and both appear to be well into their eighties, setting the quirky mood, but the tuxedo does not seem to have any connection to what awaits inside. The interior is indeed somehow reminiscent of times gone by, but not in a tasteful classy way, more just due to a lack of stylistic modernization over time. The bars are still solid wood, as are the tables covered in white tablecloths. There really isn’t much to look at as far as decoration goes, apart from some gaudy silver reflective things hanging along one of the walls. There is a decent sized central dance-floor that is usually fairly packed. Behind it is a stage that sometimes hosts live cover-bands, playing classics ranging from the Beatles to Michael Jackson. When the DJs are setting the tune the choice of music seems to be from the same sort of classic hits, with some German “Schlager” or popular folk music thrown in now and again. The atmosphere of the crowd is filled with fun and everyone seems to be in high spirits. The rather large interior was packed on the three weekends that I have been there. The patrons are somewhere between 20 and 50, with no specific age group seeming to dominate. This is not a trendy club and so no one seems to care if they are seen dancing enthusiastically to some 80’s hit by Wham, or just standing at one of the two large bars and sharing a hearty laugh with friends. Its a much more relaxed atmosphere than in most Berlin clubs. Prices are very moderate, but don’t expect too many fancy cocktails, its a basic fare of beer or simple long-drinks here.
I have found this to be a great place to come at the beginning of a night out, since it fills up rather early. Its great to just have some beers and goof off before moving down the street to Rodeo or other more hip locations where the cues are long and image counts again.

Small cozy pub that has an amazing selection of whiskies (they claim to have close to 300). They also have 100 wines and 6 beers on tap if needed. Knowledgeable and friendly staff added to my good overall experience. The other patrons seemed to be mostly regulars and the entire place had a very intimate atmosphere. Would certainly recommend this as a stop for any serious Whisky lover that wants to discover and try something outside of the usual well-known fare or that is looking for certain hard to find bottles or something special. There is an adjacent store that stocks the same whiskies and supposedly sells them at fairly reasonable prices, but it was closed at night when I was there.
