Over 300 hectares of woodland and pastures to walk through in the heart of Zagreb. Its a great place to lose yourself and feel like you have escaped to the countryside while still being in the centre of the city. Some great bars to visit and wile away the time no matter what the season. Maksimir is great in the Winter, Spring, Summer and Autumn.

A great zoo (if you can call zoos great) in the heart of the city. A good way to spend a relaxing afternoon in the sunshine. If you have kids then they will love it. Its not a big zoo, but the animals have good size enclosures and appear well cared for. Feeding time for the sea lions is good.
