mings - Cumbernauld

3 Auchenkilns Park, Glasgow, Scotland G68 0LN

22.02.2009

Dont visit this place without trying the tempinyaki Hot plate dinners. Prices for a set menu start at £24 and includes soup, satay, salad, chicken, fried rice, veg, sirloin steak and ice cream. Then the prices increase and include extras like prawns, fillet steak, up to lobster, all of which are cooked to your liking. The service is fantastic, the cooks are a delight to watch and make a point of interacting with diners and the whole experience os thoroughly enjoyable.
I will be visiting this place much more regularly.

Eye on the Tyne - Newcastle

9-17 Broad Chare, Newcastle upon tyne NE1 3DQ

21.02.2009

Thoroughky enjoyed the ambience and interiors of this trendy pub/resturaunt. Nice seating of either sofas and large seats or stools to enjoy the very well priced and delicious food. Would recommend the deli cheese platter as it was brilliantly priced and suptious.
Staff were very friendly and more than willing to assist with menu choices.
A lovely place to relax and enjoy fine food and some drink. A great place to visit once you’ve walked across the millenium bridge.

Victoria Wine - Glasgow

109 Cowgate, Kirkintilloch, Glasgow, Scotland G66 1JD

10.02.2009

A nicely sized victoria wines that doesn’t include bullet proof glass. Helpful staff usually willing to help out with decisions.
Nice range of wines, spirits, beers and alcopops and parking available outside of the store. Easily found on the main street of Kirkintilloch across from the Regent Centre.

Stravaigin - Glasgow

26 Gibson Street, Glasgow, Scotland G12 8NX

10.02.2009

This was my second visit to Stravaigin as I found a great deal on the 5pm website which offered three courses and a small glass of wine for £15. The surroundings of the resturaunt are beautiful, wooden and well presented. The staff at first were very attentive and poilte, and the food was pleasant. However, we sat for over 30minutes waiting to see if our dessert plates would be taken away and we would be given our bill. Finally I decided we had waited long enough and we went to the desk ourselves.
It was only then we remembered was the same reason we had left disheartened on our last visit.
I understand that they do not want to hurry patrons but I made it rather clear we were finished.
It’s a shame that polite staff, pleasant food and lovely surroundings are ruined by slow service.
I doubt I would visit again-definetly not if I were planning to go somewhere afterwards.

lochinch rugby club - Glasgow

Pollock Park, Glasgow, Scotland

30.01.2009

Lochinch is situated in the beautiful surrounds of Pollok Country Park just minutes from the city centre, on the south side of Glasgow. This club offers a number of meeting and
function rooms, as well as access to the SPRA sports pitches andchanging facilities at extremely competitive prices.

Lochinch offers SPRA members, and their families, a superb
location for birthday, retirement and engagement celebrations as well as wedding and other types of receptions. From a formaldinner to a more relaxed 'party’ setting our function suite is fully adaptable.
unfortunatly the downside is you need to be related to or have a friend who works for the police but the venue is a great place to hold a special occasion. I had my 21st here and the buffet was great, the drinks were very well priced and the Dj kept the music playing all night, we had very little to organise. Just the decorations.
Also worth a visit during rugby season to see burly policemen play against other burly rugby players- not the worst way to spend a saturday.

Royal bank of scotland - Kirkintilloch

98 Kirkintilloch Road, Lenzie, Glasgow, Scotland G66 4LQ

30.01.2009

This is my branch of Royal Bank of Scotland and I have been attending this branch for over a decade. It is a small branch but has three desks and waiting time is never over five minutes. The branch itself was redecorated just over a year ago so it’s interiors are clean and modern and the staff haven’t changed much over the past decade. They are extremely helpful and polite.

The School Of Art - Glasgow

168 Renfrew Street, Glasgow, Scotland G3 6RF

27.01.2009

Glasgow school of art firstly starts with amazing architechture, but who’s looking at that?? Inctead your mixing with the arty, hippy, indie, fashionistas that fill up the school of art night club. Random sofas scattered about the levels of floors, great random music from indie, electro to jazz to pop and good drink deals. Thursday nights are meant to be the best, haven’t visited any other nights but worth a visit if you like alternative music and people.

The Savoy - Glasgow

140 Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow, Scotland G2 3DH

27.01.2009

Whole heartedly agree with another review on this page, entering the savoy was a big mistake, PAYING to enter the savoy was a MAJOR mistake. The club itself is great, spacious, great layout, nice big dance floor to move about and plenty of seating to enjoy a sit down when you are boogied out. However, the people let it down, young girls, short short skirts and guys who are drooling all over them from the minute they step in.
They also do not do brand drinks, but instead fill their punters up with cheap nasty alcopops that I have never heard of.
I was offered free entry the next time I went, um dont think im ever going to use those though. EVER!

Quiz Clothing - Glasgow

220 Buchanan Street, Glasgow, Scotland G1 2GF

27.01.2009

Moderately sized store that caters to the majority of younger shoppers who want a short dress to wear on their saturday night out. A lot of bling and sequins to be found in this store and clothes that aren’t really that well made. Often you’ll try on a dress to find that the zip is borken or their is a tear or a button missing.
The designs are good in part but the quality is lacking.
THe staff are always happy to help with choice of sizes or any other needs you have.

Long Tall Sally - Glasgow

43 West Nile Street, Glasgow, Scotland G1 2PT

27.01.2009

One of the first desingated stores for women who happen to be over 5’8 and dont fancy wearing clothes that look like they have been shot into them. They offer their range in sizes 8-22 and inside seam on trousers goes up to 36”. Their clothing isn’t cheap but it is designed inhouse and made to flatter taller women.
They also have a womens range of shoes and boots which accomadate up to a size 11, without losing the edge in fashion.
Extremely obliging and polite staff.
