The City Walls is the new pub and restaurant that has taken place of the yard. It has a warm welcoming feeling to it. It looks lovely inside compared to the Yard. The food is good, great choice and selection and it’s well tasty. They do good offers Monday to Thursday like 2 meals for £9. Drink is cheap and you can double up for a £1. It’s normally a very busy place especially at the weekend. It is suitable for families and has disabled access. Staffs are great and service is always fast. Great place for a night out cheap cocktails :D (original review written on 18/11/08)
Editing this – now 3 years later and this place is still as good. Meals are now 2 for £9.99 so not that much of a price rise. We recently visited again with a disabled friend (invalid scooter not a wheelchair). We gave no notice that we were coming and they were amazing. The accomodated us without any problem. It was my friends birthday and the service we received was great. The food as usual was very good and we had a brilliant time.

One of the best Chinese restaurants left in Stirling. It’s located in King Street not far from the Golden Lion Hotel. It’s a relatively small place but that goes for nothing. The food quality is excellent and the staff are nothing short of amazing and extremely helpful. It’s a family run affair and I have been in there many times and can offer no complaints about the place. Well other than the fact that at lunch times you may have to wait for a table it is so popular. Children are always made very welcome.
The food is always delicious and the buffet they offer is great. There might not be as much choice as other ‘buffet’ chinese restaurants but I can guarantee you the food is always fresh and hot. They have recently started selling the most amazing floral teas which I can highly reccomend. Would reccomend this place to anybody who is search of a decent Chinese meal whilst in Stirling. The service is amazing, the staff are delightful and the place is always immaculate.
Phone Unlocker - Stirling

Not a big fan of this store. We had a mobile phone that was only 3 months old but had no insurance that needed fixed. This store had just opened and were offering a discount so we went here instead of the usual place (stupid). Paid for the phone to be repaired but when we got it home it appeared to have a different problem than the one it originally had. Took it back and they tried to tell us we had broken it. After much disagreement with them that it wasn’t us that had broken it, that they had not repaired it properly, they gave us our money back. Took it to our normal store and after he looked at it he told us it was beyond repair. I wouldn’t use this store again if you paid me to. Service was rubbish, they lied to us about the phone being sent away to be fixed only to discover when we took it back that it was the 'wee guy through the back’ that fixed the phones.
--pinky-- i agree. my friend had her phone confiscated from her when she passed it over asked for it to be unlocked (note the phone did belong to my friend for a number of years & was bought legitimately from a local phone store originally with contract) they fed her some bs excuse and only offered her the option of it back unlocked - once she paid them £10....

Morrison is situated in the Sprinkerse Retail Park. It is a great place to shop as they always have some fantastic deals on. Parking is never a problem as the car park is a good size and even if it was full there is always the car park for the rest of the retail park (bit longer walk though). The staff are very helpful and the store is always clean and tidy. Shelfs are always well stocked and staff are quick to help if you can’t find something. What I like is that they have most of their good deals along the middle of the aisles, so if you are on the hunt for deals this is usually a good place to wander along. The cafe is a great place to go after your shop too. The prices are pretty good and the food is normally good.
Only complaint about this is that because it is place so far outside of the town centre, it is quite difficult to shop here if you don’t have a car. Yes the park and ride bus stops right outside the store but if you plan on doing a BIG shop then a taxi back home can work out expensive.

Went here with my family to celebrate my 40th birthday. It has just been taken over and seems to be very quiet at the moment. When we phoned to book our meal we were told that they usually stop serving food at 6pm but since we wanted to book for 7pm they still accepted our booking. We arrived at the restaurant to find only 2 other people there having a drink and that we were going to be the only diners. This worried us to start with but then we realised that they were only going to be cooking food for us. The food was fantastic and the service was excellent. The choice on the menu was varied and I can only say the prices were amazing - 2 courses £8.95, 3 courses £10.95. We all went for the 2 course option and the total bill (including drinks) for 9 of us was just over £100 which I found fantastic. Would highly reccommend Dr Gorman’s.

This was an amazing pub/club. It had live cabaret act, which was hilarious. Men pole dancing and a drag queen, a good way to start your night out. They take your photo as you go in the door which was good to keep as a souvenir. The only down side is, we are used to paying £8 for a jug of cocktail and at £25 for a small jug of sex on the beach this was a bit out of our price range :O. Other drinks were dirt cheap though. Good place to go if you really want to have a fun night out. Would go back again if I was ever in Manchester.

This McDonalds was the first one in Stirling and opened about 18 years ago. It has very recently been refurbished and now looks very modern with armchair seating and diner style seating on the entrance floor. They also have some high stool seating which isn’t exactly comfortable to sit on if you are anything bigger than skinny. Don’t know who picked the colour but brown is not a colour you would put together with McDonalds. It is usually pretty clean and tidy when I have gone in and the service is very good and quick. The food is pretty much up to McDonalds standards and I have had no complaints when eating here. There is also seating downstairs, which is now smaller than it was before the refurbishment. The seating downstairs is very comfortable compared to the upstairs ones. The toilets are usually clean and tidy. In all a pleasant McDonalds to visit with nice staff who are very helpful.

Book about a month before staying, as i had an interview. Stayed Thursday to Friday. Hotel was amazing clean tidy. Only problem was we got a room with no window what do you expect for £40 for a twin room. Staff were great. We were out on the Thursday night and came back the air conditioning wasn’t working so we were moved rooms straight away in to a room with windows which was a bonus.
Great hotel would go back. This hotel is only excellent value if you are staying on weekdays, a wee bit more expensive if you are staying at the weekend.

What can we say about this shop? A pleasure to visit it and that isn’t just for the chocolate or the sweets that they stock. The staff in the shop are excellent and are always willing to help or offer advice. They have a fantastic chocolate fountain - well it is when it’s working - that you can buy shots of chocolate from. Thornton’s chocolate is excellent quality and this shop is alway clean, tidy and well laid out. They have a great variety of stock and very rarely is something out of stock, with the exception of very busy seasons like Christmas. They stock the most fantastic eggs at Easter time that sell like hot cakes - the champagne ones are to die for. They offer a wide variety of chocolates that make fantastic gifts for special occasions - yes you can now buy Thorntons stuff in big supermarkets but you will never get the service you can get by buying in the actual shop.

This is one of the few actual camera shops left in Stirling. The staff in the store are very helpful and will help with any needs that you may have. It doesn’t matter whether you are in buying thousands of pounds on a camera/equipment or just need advice about what is the best size photo print to go for. They don’t talk down to you and there advice is easy to understand. I go here for all my photo prints, whether actually putting in an order instore or using there online service and collecting my prints instore, the service is always fantastic.
