I came across this place when looking for an independent eatery in Poole. There is also another in Brighton, which I believe are both owned by Dermot O’Leary. The evening started off with a bottle of Gavi white wine, a few flatbreads and dips whilst looking through the delights of the menu (it took a while to decide, so it was a good job we had some nibbles to see us through!) after much deliberation, we decided on battered calamari to start and share between two. This was the best calamari I had ever had, and I think I have it in every restaurant I go to!! It was very light and crispy. Yum. The main course for one of us was a little bit of a temptation to try something new, a crab linguini – It was delicious but we quickly realised that we were not a fan of crab! I myself had a rib eye steak with a bearnaise sauce – again the best I had ever had!! We ended the evening with a couple of coffees and a lemon posset, which came decorated with fresh berry fruit and a shortbread. Perfect meal! Would highly recommend this place to anyone, especially if even for the service!

This is my new favourite place in Newbury! The prices are great, the food is delicious and the staff are very friendly! I hope this place takes off as I know the location hasn’t been the best in the past few years. Thoroughly recommend it :)

The landlord of this place is a disgrace!! A poor 84 year old woman had collapsed outside in the morning and all the landlord had to say was ‘go away’ not even offering a blanket or glass of water – what a disgrace, close this place down with his attitude! I see theres a similar previous review about him too. I wish I could leave the starts blank, not even worth the one! DISGRACEFUL.

newburypaul The pub has been up for sale a long time, status just changed to “under offer” so hopefully a change of management soon.

I am in love with this place, it has a brilliant atmosphere, the staff are lovely and the food is amazing! i opted for eggs and sourdough for breakfast followed by some macaroons…truly delicious! The biggest compliments to the chef! worth a visit even if you are miles from Brighton centre!!

I went here recently for the first time and the burgers are amazing! Bit of a wait, but then you can see it cooking and burgers aren't quick to make, fresh! I could not believe how cheap it was either :)

I have heard that they have now added some new items to their menu so will definately be checking it out soon!

Recommended!!

So, I tried this place out again when took over from the original owner... beautiful burgers and the chips are now high standard! Might have to make a weekly stop here... mmm

I wanted to try this place after working in an authentic Italian in Liverpool. I cannot fault the place, the staff were very friendly and over-attentive (in a nice way!!), the food was AM-Azing!!! I was totally stuffed for days after...and a bargain - 3 courses with coffee on a Sunday £15.90. Can't ask for much more, and then on the way out the ladies got a rose :) Highly recommended for Dinner or Lunch.

When stuck for a place to find cider in Reading (and good old Weston's cider!) This is definitely the best and most quirkiest place to go! With delicious food and a great atmosphere, it makes for a great place to stop before heading home on the train.

I recently visited this campsite with a group of friends as it was the closest camping site to Weston's cider farm. I could not fault this at all, the toilets and shower block were exceptionally clean, the staff were friendly and helpful and the cafe on site was lovely. It was 5Km from Weston's cider farm, not far from the local towns (a visit to Ross-On-Wye is a must!) Short walk to rural areas for walks. Nearby pubs definitely worth a visit.

I wouldn't normally be a fan of eating Chinese while on an all inclusive holiday in Spain but to try something different on our last evening, we tried this place. I couldn't recommend it enough! The food was lovely, we got a free jug of Sangria and free drinks at the end. To top it all off, we were pleasantly surprised at how little the bill actually was! It was right along the beach front in Lanzarote.
