Ahhh good old Batchwood. Or Batch. Or the Hood.
Love it or hate it you still go, as frankly there is no where else worth going in St Albans past midnight.

I'm part of the LOVE IT catagory. In fact i'm there most weekends (shhh don't tell anyone) But it really does have something for everyone.

Thursday night's are for the young under 21 crew, and where i spent many a Thursday night while studying for my Alevels. Fridays are a bit pants to be honest, but Saturday is where its at.

Downstairs you have a choice of a sit down in the garden (or a burger/fag - depending on the time of year/your preference), then there's the main dance floor playing dance, house etc. Next to that is the cocktail lounge playing R&B and urban music - always packed.

Upstairs is the VIP lounge and the best bit.... The Loft. Full of cheesey music/70s and 80s, with a bit of Artic Monkeys and the Kooks mixed in!

As my local cafe to work i'm yet to get bored with the selection, and despite being right near the British Museum and lots of offices, you never have to wait long to get a take-away. Food is fine, but the service is top notch - plus one of the owners (i presume) is a bit of a silver fox!
