HMV - Coventry

HMV offers a good range of electical products but mainly CD’s and DVD’s and Games.
HMV always seems to have a sale on and now its coming up to Christmas, i reccommend that you visit here towards the last few shopping days as the prices seem to plumit.
But beware, last time i did this i was in a queue for about 25 mins because of how busy it was, but what do you expect when it is as cheap as it is sometimes
Although, Instore isnt as cheap as Online stores, but the service is great and prices are reasonable. if you dont like shopping online and like to buy your music and DVD’s etc in store, i would say this is the place to come.
I wouldnt buy anything from here for myself unless its on offer because you can always find a much better price online.
Good store but not the cheapest

This is a really great store and is my favourtie bookshop. It is spacious and light AND has a Starbucks upstairs!! The Store itself has lots of Sections and for a book store it is fairly large.
Situated right next to Ricoh Arena, the store has lots of parking and it also has Tesco’s right next to it so its great to go shopping and pop into here to see if there are any offers on.
Store is always clean and tidy and it is always easy to find the book you need. Also has a large range of books which is always neccasary.
Parking is OK as i said but watch out for match days as Coventry City’s stadium is right next to it. Prices are slightly higher than other high street booksellers but the service you get is great and if you dont mind paying extra then its worth it for a great shop in my opinion.
Gamestation - Coventry

In an ideal world this shop would be the ideal shop to shop in. But over the years i have learnt dont.
There is lots of choice around this shop for buying games and i wouldnt advise this one unless they have a good offer on.
I got Call Of Duty 4 last Christmas for £25. Now thats a bargin considering that the new one has came out and you can just about get it for that price now.
Gamestation do seem to be very genourus when it comes to trading in games. Not money wise but in how the condition of the games are wise. So i advise dont buy and games pre-owned from here, or do so at your own risk because one of them could be mine and you wont be wanting that.
From my experience of game stores i would never shop at gamestation unless the deal was better than anywhere else.
Tesco Stores - Coventry

My weekly shopping store. Prices are cheaper than sainsburys and morrisons.
Staff are ok, but not helpful when something is wrong
Store is kept clean and products are well set out in a clean, easy to find manner
Apart from it being cheap and reasonable value, the quality of the food for me isnt good enough. Yes it is good for some of the quality brands but Tesco’s own brand for me is too cheap.
For example the ham from Tesco’s was 25p cheaper than Sainsburys. But the Sainsburys Ham was a lot lot better. Worth more than 25p better in my opinion.
The self service tills do seem to be a bit of a pain and there always seems to be one plonker who is right in front of you who doesnt know how to use it. Can be an efficient way nevertheless.
Tesco’s is my weekly shopping store for branded goods, but i wouldnt use Tesco for its own branded stuff.
Sainsburys - Coventry

The food in Sainsburys is much better than our over local shop Morrison’s.
Im actually 99% certain you will find the food you buy here top notch.
And if you dont like the food you buy, because you are disapointed just tell sainsburys. They gave me a voucher last time i did and they were really nice about it.
Saisburys pricing isnt as cheap as other places so if you dont like paying extra than this is not for you.
Store is fairly old but staff are great most of the time and its always easy to find what you are looking for.
Always has great offers on as well, and the pre-cooked meat from the counter seems to be quality on top of the quality that you already get.
Tesco’s and Morrisons are not as great for quality but if you dont mind paying a little extra its worth it.
Also bakery has a large range of cakes which is always nice, but make sure you dont leave it to late in the day or there wont be any left.
Can become really busy which is a pain but overall good store to shop in, food great but is more expensive than other supermarkets.

Thortons is the best chocolate shop. What this shop can do with chocolate is amazing and there is always chocolate that you like.. The small chocolate round things etc are lovely, and you can pick and mix your own. The store also sells lots of different boxes of chocolate and you can have these gift wrapped at Christmas time which doesn’t cost that much more. At Christmas and Easter, and even Valentines day, the stord can be busy and you may have to queue up outside the store but what Thortons do with chocolate is unbelievable and where possible all items can have a message put on them for free. This is a small store but the best place to buy chocolate
Co-op - Coventry

the co-op is brilliant! everything you need in one place.
fresh fruit and veg, milk ,yogurt, bread and everything else you could need, it even has a post office.
A great local shop but wouldn’t say shop here for everything as you will see that the prices are more expensive than most other places so this Is just really a place for the last minute things.
Staff are great and store is big enough and there is never any problem with things being out of stock.
again a great place to shop just I myself wouldn’t shop here unless it’s just for the odd thing, just go supermarket as it’s a lot cheaper. Although they do sometimes have offers which are better than supermarkets.
Phantom Coach - Coventry
Fletchamstead Highway, Coventry, West Midlands CV4 7BA
15.11.2008
The Phantom Coach offers cheap Food and alchool is a friendly enough environment.
Food is very reasonable for the price and i think you will be pleasently suprised with what you get.
Staff arent really that helpful and it can become busy on sundays, therefore seating can be a problem.
Waiting times for meals can be a pain but the food is good, nothing amazing but good.
Overall it is a very good place to go out for a cheap meal or a cheap pint. Would recommend for this not for going out somewhere fancy.
Pizza Hut - Birmingham
135 New Street, Birmingham, West Midlands B2 4NS
15.11.2008
A typical pizza hut which offers good tasty pizza at reasonable prices.
Pizza hut can become quite packed and you will find you sometimes need to wait to get seated.
Service is good and staff are great as they always seem to be at pizza hut restaurants.
Unlimited drinks is always the best part and the buffet can be good value for money if you take advantage of it.
Situated in a good area and is a better than average pizza hut and i would say you should use this particular one over others, except if it is busy.
OVerall very good place to eat.
Bullring Shopping Centre - Birmingham
38 High Street, Birmingham, West Midlands B4 7SL
15.11.2008
bullring is the best shopping center in the midlands.
has a large amount of popular stores and you will always find what you need without any trouble.
Can become busy during peak tiimes like sales and stores do become a mess.
Beware if you go anyway expecting student discount, you need to have a special student discount card for the bull ring apparently, although this wasnt the cas ein topman just pizza hut.
