I had a lovely early morning breakfast in here with my son. Very yummy scrambled eggs and Salmon and not a bad price for freshly cooked food. The staff were very pleasant. I,m going to try one of the evenings with a singer or pianist.

This museum is set on Victoria avenue. It is not very well publicised which is a shame as it may be small but has a lovely hands on children’s area where they can put together mosaics and pottery pieces amongst other activities that help them to understand how we find out about past lives. There is also a planeterium for the over fives which I have not tried yet.

Set on three floors this cinema has over five screens and always has the latest films on offer. Excepts orange wednesday which is a good thing as just as pricey as other cinemas. Reasonably clean and welcoming. Never make a fuss if you like taking your younger children to a twelve.

This is actually an old cinema and is now a local theatre which compliments Southend’s two other theatres. I t always puts on a panto involving local children and amateur dramatic groups. Catch something different at this theatre. Could do with an injection of cash from the local authority and is underused.

Set further along the esplanade this amusement arcade is excellent if you have younger children and prefer a quieter place. It has the added bonus of a small cafe located at the front of the arcade so you can put your feet up with a cheap cuppa.

The best arcade for spending your well earned money. Has a good selection of new amusements. From two penny machines to two pound. Always clean , modern and great fun. Pool tables at the back .

Just gets better and better. The new ride is a huge improvement and many more rides are planned. If you go after six 'o’ clock the wristbands are half price. This place is open for many more months of the year than many other theme parks and has a great selection of rides for all ages. Entrance is free so you only pay for those who want to ride.

Has recently had a makeover and is under new management. I was really pleased with my cut and the friendly service. The young hairdressers are enthusiastic and not afraid to cut your hair in whichever style you ask for.

Small, friendly Library set in the village of Great Wakering. Whilst the selection of books is small it is well chosen. The librarian is always helpful.

Although have only used during the day have always been served fairly quickly and everything is freshly cooked. Always friendly to children. Definately a good place to take the Kids.
