Massive, very well-equipped gym in a rather rambling building on several floors with CV, resistance, weights and circuit room. Only £20 per month to general public and cheaper still to Edinburgh Uni students, the main clientele. Hard to get onto equipment at busy times and during classes. No-frills showers. No parking except for cycles. Closes around 10 days over Xmas/New Year. Swimming pool on Holyrood Road is included but has limited opening hours. Membership cards self-demagnetise and replacements may be charged for. CSE website shows outdoor facilities at Firbush. The best deal for fitness on a tight budget.
