Marlborough Fine Art (London) - Mayfair

6 Albemarle Street, London W1S 4BY

05.05.2013

I often really enjoy the shows here, and unlike some of the contemporary galleries in this area the staff are friendly!

The Saatchi Gallery - Chelsea

Duke of York's HQ, King's Road, London SW3 3SQ

05.05.2013

Love The Saatchi Gallery! The work is always varied and interesting, and there's so much to see. The shop is also good, with lots of great books and other items. The themes of the shows are often really creative, it's just a shame that they only change twice a year. It's lovely that such a large gallery is 100% free too.

Zabludowicz Collection - Chalk Farm

175 Prince of Wales Road, Camden, London NW5 3PT

05.05.2013

This gallery is great. The building itself is large and interesting, still has some original features such as fireplaces, and it's great to see a large establishment championing emerging contemporary art. Staff are usually friendly and helpful, so it feels more like a smaller gallery.
Every exhibition utilises different amounts and areas of the space, so each visit feels like I'm visiting for the first time. I'd really recommend this gallery if you'd like to see contemporary work by artists you probably haven't heard of before. Plus, it's free!

Camden Kitchen - Camden

102 Camden High Street, Camden, London NW1 0LU

04.05.2013

Nice food, nice environment, and it's not too crowded as it's slightly further down the high street. Recommended!

Blue Shack - London

16 Station Road, London EN5 1QW

27.04.2013

Nice food, friendly service, very convenient for lunch.

The Comedy Store - Leicester Square

1a Oxendon Street, London W1D 6BP

27.04.2013

Excellent entertainment, it's a bit awkward moving about with food/drinks before the show starts, but once it starts it's not really an issue. Would prefer a bit more variety on the food menu, but I understand it's not a restaurant. Really good night.

Byron Hamburgers - Covent Garden

33-35 Wellington Street, Covent Garden, London WC2E 7BN

27.04.2013

Really enjoyed it here, and it's lovely to go to a burger restaurant that hasn't neglected vegetarians, as the suitable option was amazing, definitely one of the best veggie burgers I've had. Side orders were delicious too, and the food is filling. Service was friendly and efficient, despite it being a busy evening.

The Angelic - Islington

57 Liverpool Road, Islington, London N1 0RJ

27.04.2013

I've fallen in love with The Angelic, but unfortunately prices are pretty steep. However, the quality of the food is great, and there's a very wide selection of drinks to choose from. The food menu isn't massive, but there's still a good choice. The food options are changed periodically, so I'm looking forward to going back in the future to see what else is available.
I'm not sure I'd come here of a night out, but it's lovely to have lunch. It's busy but the atmosphere is relaxed, there's no rush to leave, and the service is attentive. I also thought that the presentation of the meals was lovely, especially the platter of bread and condiments brought for the table.
There are also lots of nice quirks here that help to make it such a nice venue, for example old church chairs used for seating, a painting on the ceiling, and some very surreal toilets. The windows are nice and big, there's lots of light, and it's only a short walk from the tube station. Highly recommended, looking forward to returning!

My Village - Camden

37 Chalk Farm Road, Camden , London NW1 8AJ

25.02.2013

I've loved it here from the first time I was taken here!
The food is delicious and healthy, and I really love their mint tea too - it's so fresh, and often staff offer to refill your glass with hot water so you get a second cup of tea for free. Although the decor isn't quite to my taste it's really comfortable and cosy.
Staff are very friendly, and often give samples of various items for free. Such a mix of people come in here that it's also a great place for people watching. Very relaxing and informal environment, I love it!

Parliament Hill - Hampstead

Parliament Hill, London NW3 2TA

24.02.2013

Obviously the view is amazing, and I'd really recommend it for both locals and tourists. I took a friend who was visiting from Sweden, and she really enjoyed being able to see central London in this way, and for me it was great too because it reminded me of how impressive London really is. I hope to come back on a sunnier, warmer day and spend a bit longer there, was the weather was the only off putting thing.
The location is really easy to find coming from Gospel Oak. I expected the walk up the hill to be a bit more strenuous, but it was quite pleasant. The moment of turning around and seeing everything for the first time was really wonderful. I can't imagine anyone going to Parliament Hill and not being impressed. Plus it doesn't cost a thing!
