Mosset Tavern

We ate three times at the Mosset Tavern during our last holiday in Forres.
Just wish we had found this gem earlier – we might have avoided a few very bad meals in other places…
The pub is nicely decorated, very clean, staff is extremely nice and friendly.
On various holidays in Scotland we have been to many pubs and restaurants, many of them were very nice, but I must say the Mosset has become my absolute favourite.
It’s way more than just the usual pub grub, nicely presented, very well made food. Inspired and with fresh local produce (if it comes to beef you just can’t beat Scottish Angus, imho).
My tip: try the chorizo risotto – it’s to die for.
We also tried burgers, fish’n’chips, chicken skewers, steak pie, roast of the day – everything was very good, and surprisingly cheap, especially if you consider the quantity served. Which unfortunately made it impossible to try a dessert. Will surely leave room for that on our next visit to Forres – already looking forward!
