tea restaurant

We noticed the Restaurant because of our hotel which was in the same street.

There was a display outside with pictures of different noddle dishes, so we went there, hoping to find a chinese-style noddlesoup.

The interiour of the restaurant is modern, and when I first saw the restaurant, I thought , this must be japanese style, because of the modern, plain and simple fittings.

For the first time, we went there in the evening and so I learned, that „frokost“ in danish means something like lunch, and the noodle-dishes weren't available.

Instead for starters we had some pan fried dumplings, wich were, what I think, home made and delicious, very juicy, served with a authentic soja-sauce vinegar dip, with some spring onions.

Very good.

For main course we had some chicken with vegetables and a spicy lamb dish, which were good as well, but more like typical, I would say, european-cantonese cuisine, an upper level, but not very surprising.

The reason I'm very excited about this place was the thing called frokost.

We went there round about two o'clock, and finally I could order my noodle-dish.

Spicy grounded meat with vegetables >hao's zha jiang mian<.

While waiting , I heared long chopping noises, and when my dish arrived I saw, that this was not made of ground meat, but fresh chopped pork, little cubicles with black soyabeans, a dark sauce  on top of a bowl with thick noodles and fresh cucumber and red pepper.

This dish was very delicious, with an authentic taste of china.

The cold noodle-salad >hoa's nudlesalat< my girl friend ordered was served with fresh cucumber and red pepper as well, and was served with a sesame dressing.

The texture was very authentic, and it is not for everybody, but the taste of it, I remembered very well, and I was happy to help my girlfriend finishing her dish.

The whole area of Vesterbro seems like a little china/asia-town, with a lot of promising looking restaurants, from china, to japan, thailand and vietnam.

The price level is normal for copenhagen, as far as I know, and the next time I visit copenhagen, I will come back!
