Not far from King’s Cross Station, this funky place (in the Cross King's pub) is not your traditional pub but not a club either. It has outdoor tables, a good band, and a downstairs area where the Lion’s Den Comedy Club performs various nights of the week, allowing amateur comedians 5 minutes on stage to prove themselves to the voting crowd.
One of my mates got through the gong round, and then out of those who pass a winner is chosen. The winner gets paid to perform on stage the next week. The comedy club is £5 entry, and there are sometimes professional shows with well-known comedians, for example, I know Stephen K Amos did a show there. His was £8 entry. But the club also offers cheaper admission for students.
