This new restaurant/tequila bar is an absolute gem The food is based on the regional specialities of Jalisco, the home province of Tequila, & ranges from starters such as a superb, smoky chile relleno – ancho chilli stuffed with aged cheese & herbs – & a zesty sea bass ceviche, served with pomegranate seeds for extra crunch, to a main course of carnitas.
Like all the mains, the pork was accompanied by corn tortillas, refried beans, a shredded cabbage salad & a couple of salsas – terrific value at under £12. Tequila enthusiasts won’t want to miss out on the extraordinary selection of reposados, anejos & blancos – & if you haven’t the stomach to take your shots neat, there are plenty of mouth watering cocktails on the list, including a cracking pomegranate margarita.
