Proper Irish pub, complete with dodgy old fellas collecting money ‘for the cause’ and ropey old women with fiery tempers and a taste for whiskey. Smoky, dirty and slightly threatening, but one of the best non-themed irish pubs around. Great for a couple of looseners before heading over to the more aesthetic surroundings and clientelle of Smoke Bar which is a mere 24 paces away from the Wheatsheaf’s front door. Also, the best Paddy’s day party I’ve EVER been to - with Irish dancers and women without shame. Anyway, we love the Wheatsheaf- great guinness, great craic and double vodka red bulls for only two quid fifty - beat that O’Neills!”“
