Yes, it’s another Japanese restaurant in London that I eat at. No surprises there… but Satsuma is a strange one - you could easily be fooled into thinking that this Wardour St hotspot is a “dress up” dinner destination for beautiful people only: thank goodness the food is up to scratch, and the atmosphere, once inside, is friendly and relaxed.

With decent veggie options, and a willingness to do my maki without mayonnaise, the food was tantalising enough for one of our party to order Dinner no. 3 even though they weren’t strictly hungry - their plate (along with mine) was clean by the end of the meal.

The high quality sushi is tenderly prepared and mouth-meltingly pleasing, although food is served when ready, instead of all together. Tea and Sake is also served, which is another good way to get me on side.

Dinner with a pot of tea: around £15 or so.

Sound review - but who wants dinner with a pot of tea?

    Thanks for your comment, gotiges7!
Although tea with meals might not be to everyone’s taste, I love a nice pot of green tea with japanese food… although you’re obviously welcome to have whatever you want with yours :-) LJ
