Comment: A great pub if you’re unassuming and if pretentiousness makes you feel sick to the stomach. Prassnik came to my rescue on at least one occasion when a Nouvelle Cuisine encounter left me feeling utterly ravenous. When the rumbling in my stomach became too much, when there was not a single restaurant table to be had, and when those ridiculous portions being served left me in stitches, Prassnik was always there with its ‘light meals’ that would put that tenderloin of lamb drizzled with a drop of black cherry liqueur and served with a minute 5mm diameter asparagus spear, to shame. The potato salad was absolutely delicious!
Up until now, only the Cologne beer, Kölsch, has been praised to high heaven but here they even serve the Czech Louny brand!!!
The Prassnik experience was true to what the advertisement said, but it worked. When Haute Cuisine leaves you utterly famished, Prassnik’s hearty home-cooked fare and a good beer never fails to leave you satisfied. As they say, all’s well that ends well!
