The Dar Yacout is an institution in Marrakech, and is really amazing, both in terms of food - excellent and abundant - and decor. Hard to find, well hidden in the old town, the Dar Yacout was amongst the first traditional upmarket restaurants created around twenty years ago in the medina by Mohamed Zkhiri, who presides over the destiny of this sumptuous venue. The décor is enchanting with many rooms very well decorated, with sofas, tables and chairs arranged in many private rooms, including a larger one with a small pool. It is worth starting the evening with a drink on the terrace with breath-taking panoramic view over the medina and Koutoubia mosque. Highly traditional Moroccan cuisine with a menu incorporating an amazing succession of flavours, and service that lives up to the standards of this wonderful establishment. Worth visiting at least once, do not forget to book as it tends to be fully-booked in advance.
